His attitude bothers me too, although, we do need a CB and didn't get him. It bothers me we didn't have a plan B.

We always found -money - it's what keeps you in touch with your kids. For you there's the added mutual football passion. Maybe he could travel to you say once a month for hospitality at whichever club you select. Free grub, what's not to like <laugh>

Look you have little to spew about frankly. you improve or added to NEARLY every needed area of your team. The striker element is a disappointment to you but rooney can easily play one game a week so if you can get by in europe with the young lads you are ok.... if the right guy wouldn't come thats life.

the thing is a complete circus I agree and a complete bubble. I don't care what you say. its unsustainable. city throwing cheap they don't care money are sanchez and that driving arsenal towards lemar at 90odd mil..... its crazy stuff.

Our is a mixed bag for sure

1. Robertson. hmm.. one good game. 8-10mil is now apparently cheap (unless in 2 years we try sell and the going rate is 2-3 mil but still) who knows. seems a trier but we need more than just a guy crossing. we need him to look up and play interchange passes and pick someone out with a low pass not boom in crosses.. we will have to see. Meantime... MORENO of all people now first choice lb again oh my... ****ing god...

2. LCB. eyesore. still an eyesore. our go to's are klavan and gomez. at cb thats rank. gomez in 2 years might be good but he needs games

3. No 6. still henderson... or maybe can so in short we have no number 6. we have ball chasers... we need to see someone with sense step in and make it three back when playing **** teams and someone with half a brain to not go closing top top 6 sides up the pitch and leaving the whole midfield open for attack

4. Still a lack of cover in wide areas. coutinho or firmino will shift every time a mane or salah are not playing

but

4. Salah.. our front 3 looks much better with mane at left side, real goal threat and linking well there. Salah is then in constantly in good positions on the right even though he misses a lot.

5. Couinho not sold.. a pyrrhic victory? or a new no 8 and will play and supply ball to the front me fast?

6. Oxo cube signed covers off the midfield no 8 slots.

7. securing keita for klopp is good.

We are not set up for a titel chase. Ultimately if the lemar stuff never occured and VVD was clear that we were not buying a cb (even though i thought it perfectly clear) then the last couple days seeing a problem or two resolved and an extra body added would be seen as "ok"

I will confess to being on the wind for the entire time. I have only told one person that i've been dropping VVD ****e on here for the past 2 weeks purely on the wind and don't expect that person to admit i told them it.

At least jimmy can content himself with a 12 month wait for the player klopp wants but VVD as never coming and i said in june never spending 70mil on a CB.

At least now we can all forgive and forget :bandit: and move on with actual football discussion.

I think Salah looks a very good buy, Robertson is a decent LB, Solanke replaces Origi and the Ox is versatile but uninspiring imo.

So you've still got a very good first XI but the squad looks very thin to me, and it's this that'll cost you over the full season.

We haven't got a proven No.9 so Koeman is going to have to change the way we play as a result. That's a major error as is not buying cover for Baines. Our squad is large and looks good throughout barring arguably the most important position! I think we'll be mid table this season as a result, so that's disappointing
 
So you saying you heard from your sources VvD was to happen very late so Southampton save face was a wind up then mito?

It will do... we need to dump the league cu for one. the draw has been ****e and playing first team then when CL needs focus will kill us. at some point we will blow up and lose ground so really its a question of whats the requirement this year for 4th. Last year it took 75points which is huge. If spurs and arsenal say don't get it quite right and end up aorund 68 points i think we might be able to score enough to get 70 points.

I can see us in last 16 of CL. then 4th can be fought for but not more and FA cup is the only cup we can afford to chase if we have the scope for it.... thats our lot. if we consolidate reputation in top 4 i will be happy.

You... i dunno... need to be very solid but show a bit more ambition v the top sides. sigurdsson IMO is going to be vital for you but i think you will be playing rooney up top. so... well 6th is well posisble if you can continue your start. arsneal are in rag order.. i'd say go for league cup big time, get through europa with minimal fuss and then get up there in the league. I don't think 4th is one for you without the striker. its hard enough for us with all the goals in the world but not a good defence.

It was an actual itk rumour but i didn't believe it. I was just feeding it to jimmy... sorry. but he was giving it large about me sucking several cocks for saying it wasn't going to happen... i didn't COMPLETELY make it up i sort of fed both sides out there though. the late was for jimmy and me saying we ended interest was for others and saints fans (my real opinion)

Its not like i went full bore at it really, it was fairly silly really.

Don't really get why people care that much tbh. Van Dijk will likely leave in January or next summer and looks like he may continue to sulk or be isolated for a while yet. Hardly a win for Southampton.

Equally Coutinho will likely leave for Barcelona or Psg next summer. Hardly a win for us, other than to have him try perform in the champions league.

All of us acting like we stood up to bigger teams and took control, but ultimately we have no power and both players will leave anyway.

From little acorn do oak trees grow, clubs excercising their rights and not buckling to "player power" can only be good for the competition in football.
