Apology accepted. Come back. <ok>

clearly nobody remembers who mad sakho was and how mad positionally he was and how actually he was no better in the air than mr Lovren :)

about all sahko had going for him was a warrior mentality but his unprofessionalism cost him

That's bollocks about his positioning mate. He was rash at times but he would win the ball more often than not.

This guy is a very good defender who needed refining to take away the howlers from his game. But at least he understood the basics of defending.

Don't forget - this guy had Moreno to his left, Lovren to his right, Henderson/Lucas in front of him and Mignolet behind him. And at the very least, he could hold his own.

He's not perfect, but he's one of the better defenders we've had over the years.

Lovren and Sakho are too similar. Both want to go win the ball at every opportunity and that is often why their partnership didn't work.

Lovren has looked better with Matio because Matip despite being the tall defender is the sweeper and allows Lovren to go win the ball while remaining in a sweeping up position. You could swap Sakho with Lovren but not Matip. Well probably never know how good that combo could be but they certainly compliment each other in styles. Especially with Milner alongside him who is better organisationally than Moreno.

Regarding Sahko.

He was signed in September 2013 so had 3 years with us before being banished to playing with the kids for being unprofessional.

In the time that he was available, our defence was widely regarded as.....well....sh*t. Sahko was, perhaps, the best turd in the toilet in a full on warrior turd type but let's face it....he was part of the problem......a big part of you consider how he got himself banned.....

In short, Sakho is not our answer.

Move on people, nothing to see here....

And i suppose stick two nice cms in front as well?

Sounds a lot like my point.

Cant trust him and have to mind him all round.

Well said.

Liverpool are set to launch a £26.5 million bid for Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes, according to reports.
Serie A club are looking to cash in on the Argentine as he is not a first-choice pick in Luciano Spalletti’s new 3-4-2-1 formation.
The report suggests that Liverpool’s offer will be £22.5m plus another £4m in add-ons.
Paredes, who usually plays as a defensive midfielder for Roma, has started only six games in Serie A this season.

Meh....

Get's me thinking who the biggest transfer misses have been in last 2 or 3 years...

Dele Ali springs to mind...if I recall, he was on the verge of joining us but we wouldn't pay the extra couple of million and take the risk. I hate to think who we bout instead <doh>

Moreno was chosen over Bertrand <doh> <doh>

There's bound to be more....

Then there are the absolute steals that other clubs have gotten while we were buying Players that we have or are trying to offload. Kante, Payet, Mahrez and half of the Southampton team ffs. Where the feck were our scouts? Drooling over £50m+ players that we'd never buy!?

Seems like we're always one step behind the competition with young talent and then forced into the mid range buys....and always priced out of the proven talent....

Money talks. I know Klopp is a pull, but that's not for big names with nothing to prove.....they want the money.

A simplistic view I know but if he's as good as some on here are suggesting how come he's only started 6 games this season? Injuries? Poor attitude? Someone else better? Doesn't fit the system? I'd be interested to know why.

We wouldn't pay a extra couple of million for Eriksen either. He only cost Spurs £8m too ffs

We have had some bargains too. Matip, Coutinho, Milner, etc

Then there's is Ballotelli. We missed out buying anyone from the top 4 tiers of English football to get better than him. <doh>
