BBC now saying Remy clause has been activated by Arsenal. If so, then it shoots down the whole 'no striker this summer' thing Wenger has been saying in the last week or so.

Metro taking the shotgun approach as always.
According to Ornstein Arsenal have ended their interest in Remy and are not close to any other signings
It is also interesting that Wenger said that you try and keep your transfer negotiations as secret as possibleMedia is full of half truths and that's with proper news, just imagine what kind of lies they peddle with sports. Of Wenger said he isn't in for striker then what are we suppose to believe, the papers that link us with any walking man that can kick a ball or the manager of our club?

I was more refering to buying a defender/midfielder rather than a forward.I agree that rightly or wrongly that he's happy with his forward options. He said pretty clearly that he has enough striking options available in a very recent press conference. So im taking the bosses word. Unless of course he is meaning something different in order to mislead. But he generally sticks to what he says.

I'm calling it now ... we're going to sign a backup defender, and nobody else. If I'm wrong, I'll happily eat my words ... but I'm calling it.Remember that during the transfer window there are not only clubs looking to buy players, there are plenty of clubs looking to sell players, so as AW says you don't play your cards early and wait for the desperate clubs who need to offload players to play their hand.
I fully expect us to pull something out tomorrow

I don't see what conclusions can be drawn from that.Kroenke is at the game today - surely it must mean we sign someone more than just a CB
