If this turns out to be true come 31st August then AW has learnt nothing.
OUT
Fabianski
Sagna
Bendtner
IN
Sanchez
Debuchy
Ospina
Campbell??
Basically one in, one out and a return of a loanee. If Vermaelen goes then another one-in, one-out. Focusing just on first team then Sanchez is a massive upgrade on Bendtner, Debuchy is a downgrade on Sagna. So our first team has improved slightly but squad-wise... come on AW, get real.
I suppose Diaby having 45 minutes against Boreham Wood means he doesn't need another CM anymore
Well things have changed. For starters we did our main business early for once thus giving players a chance to know their team mates and settle down.
Wenger never shouts about Arsenal's business but we've just brought in a massive signing with Sanchez and Debuchy, whether people like him or not, is considered a better player than Sagna by the French national manager. He's also younger and experienced in the EPL and I think is a very solid signing. You say it's one in and one out but seeing as Wenger avoided NB52 like the plague I see it as two in and one out. Also, considering how badly we were hit by injuries I think people are forgetting quite how large our squad is.
Forwards - Giroud, Theo, Podolski, Sanchez, Campbell, Sanogo
Midfield - Arteta, Flamini, Ramsey, Cazorla, Ãzil, Wilshire, Gnabry, Rosicky, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Diaby (*chortle*), Zelalem (maybe)
Defence - Debuchy, Gibbs, Monreal, Mertesacker, Koscielny, TV, Jenkinson
Goal - Chezzers
Any number of our midfielders can rotate up front too so that's not bad by my book. Clearly where we're struggling is in defence and goal and there are heavy Ospina rumours and a number mentioning young right backs. Get both of those and add a young CB to be 4th choice and we're golden.
Providing we tell United to eff off regarding Vermaelen obviously.
