Some of the papers are claiming Schneiderlin prefers Tottenham as well. Looks like we'll have to go after our 4th choice target Carvalho who I know nothing about
Lee Hurley is the person behind Lady Arse/Daily Cannon. They've got a seperate twitter account which is used purely as a personal account. There's lots on there about it if you were interested. Probably not. I'm not bothered myself but was curious after all the comments bouncing around. It's a massive commitment to do that so fair play to him. Daily Cannon were posting a link to another young Spanish RB yesterday evening I think. Not the Atheletico lad this time. The rumours seem to be gaining pace that we'll be getting someone in which could well see Jenkinson going out. Hopefully on loan to beging with as I'd be interested to see what playing a full season would do to him.
Lots of stories about this beging agent bull to try and improve his contract. I've not seen him play but apparently he's a useful utility player in that he can play CM, DM and CB.
Ah right... so this will be the year we have no injuries right? EDIT. Just to be clear... you think Debuchy is better than Sagna? I suppose you think Sakho is better than Koscielny too? Palacio better than Tevez? Fred better than Lucas Moura? Torres better than Negredo?
Worries me slightly that Wenger obviously thinks we're done for attacking players, Last season we had to resort to Sanogo against Bayern...
I do think Debuchy is better than Sagna actually! I loved Sagna and rated him highly but he wasn't without faults and nor is Debuchy. I thought he stood out in a p*ss poor Newcastle defence last season and am optimistic about him. I don't doubt we'll have injuries again, and probably more than most other clubs. I do however think that we've essentially got two additional forward players compared to last season. I also have a faint hope that Sanogo might develop into the player that people once thought he could be. I doubt it, but I hope...! The problem will always be in balancing a squad to maximise results and massage egos. Personally I'd love to add in a Lars Bender figure as I think that'd solidify the midfield and offer protection to the defence. Throw in a keeper and a CB and I'd be happy with that.
Surely you are getting as bored with this as the rest of us. Makes your pursuit of Higuain look routine.
Monaco makes sense for Khedira if he is actually leaving. He wants the big boy wages and they'll get something in return for James
I'm interested in the thread as you are still notionally our rivals (although that ship has probably sailed for a year or two), but the on/off/on/off rumours on Khadiera are bizarre.
You will always be our main rivals to me.Our home fixture against you is always the one i look for first On the subject of Khedira it would appear that Arsenal have shown interest but it would now seem that it's all come to nothing.
Of course, same here. Much more interesting when we are close rivals though and this season I don't expect to be. But a season where we beat Arsenal is never completely written off.
People getting carried away with Arsenal, the only difference at the moment from last year is Sanchez, and it still looks like we might lose our back up CB. I'd expect Tottenham to be a bit better as well
What is the going rate for a good striker then? And if £90K is a bit high, isn't that alleviated somewhat by paying £8.5m rather than £20 or £30 million??
We pay (or paid) Podolski over £100k a week, Rosicky £80k a week, Park £50k a week, Andre Santos £60k a week... proving that paying over the odds on wages to players is not all that vital to the club. Paying Remy £90k a week would just fit in with our other player wages really.
