His goal ratio isn't the best once you take out his penalties. Seem to remember he scored 5 penalties when he went on a 12 goal run in 13 games. Also 4 penalties last season when he scored 18 in 41 games.
That's a different sort of 'great' deal in that it was lot luck you got a player who turned out that good. Same with us and Vieira and Henry. Same with Liverpool and Suarez. Same with you and Bale, same with United and Ronaldo. No clubs realised what they were onto when they signed those players. How they all turned out exceeded expectation.
Balotelli is clearly already very good. £15m for a player of his current ability could be a good deal. Not a great one mind... Don't know what PISKIE is going on about there. But could be a good bargain.

I don't know why you say that. Giroud has a better goal-scoring record. Why is Balotelli such a clear upgrade? I thought everyone was complaining that Giroud didn't score enough goals. Balotelli is not going to help defending set pieces etc., and Giroud has more assists, so what exactly is Balotelli better at?
