How the hell would I know who he has bid for? But there are plenty of average players around he could have signed for 20M and bigged them up, like Spurs have done. Spurs signings give them a shot at top 4, but is anyone picking spurs for the PL title? NO.

So lets be clear, as "Good" as people say Spurs window has been, our fans would not have been happy with exactly the same signings, because very few of them would actually make our first XI, or make us favorites for the title.

I think most Arsenal fans would be very pleased with the signings of Soldado, Lamela, and Paulino, they sure as hell are better than the players we got. You keep trying to put Spurs' signings down, what ****ing planet are you living on, when one our signings has been Sanogo? You saying Sanogo is a better option than Soldado? If Spurs' new signings are not good enough, what does that make Sanogo in comparison? Messi?

My God you talk so much ****, in fact, this will be a first, I'm going to block you because I truly can't stand you anymore with the amount of crap you write.

Are you sure about this. You got a whole extra point last year so it seems likely that four or five of our players are better than yours. We've lost one of those but signed at least three players who have improved us in other positions. Surely at least two of Capoue, Soldado, Lamela and Paulinho would improve you?

Don't waste your time with this guy, he's delusional, for real.

Come on now... There is one thing to big up your team, another to be delusional. We can all hope their new signings seriously under-perform and fail, but to say they will not improve our team is taking the proverbial!

So you think Spurs will win the PL this year?

Breaking news on SSN - " Cyrstal Palace in talks to sign striker Nicklas Bendtner from Arsenal."

The tragic thing is that we are in such a state that selling Bendtner might not be in our best interest now. That's how bad this situation has got.

If you sell him then I can't see you not replacing him, not that he's a world class player but he's an extra person to bolster out your squad, can't see you being as thin as you are now once the transfer window closes.

I think everyone is going to be really shocked and we will pull off a massive transfer plus a few squad players. All to be announced on Monday.

(If nothing is announced tonight then Monday is the next day that transfers can officialy go through)

It hasn't got that bad. Everyone needs to chill a little here.

Let's not go overboard with criticism, so that if Wenger does bring in players, we are down on them just because we have so much invested in the negative.

Last year, we dismissed Arteta and Metersacker, for exactly this reason and they have been two of our most important players. People still keep saying they want to replace BFG, I'm sure purely out of pride.

I've been consistent with my views all summer. If we bring in one or two 'top quality' players before the end of the window then I'll only have praise for the club, if though after telling everybody that we can now compete with the top clubs on transfers and wages and that we will be strengthening this window only to end up with two free signings, then I will also be calling for change in the club, because thus far it's been a bloody shambles.

There are two things we have to wait for, any new signings from us and how well the new signings Spurs do this season. There is no argument in the world that can justify Spurs being weaker having brought all these players in for Bale. What do you think Bale is, Superman FFS. They have strengthened in most areas and brought some serious quality in Lamela, Saldado and Paulinho. AVB has brought players he feels will fit his system so now is the moment of truth, is he the real deal or not, we are about to see this season.

Rather than celebrating the signings we've got, we're still desperately waiting for them to materialise. Whats even more worrying is we're starting to have second thoughts on selling a player we've been trying to get rid for ages, yes, Super Bendtner. And you know what, the way things are going, I strongly recommend that we keep him this season.

It looks like we'll sign someone, so I guess it depends on how you define top quality. Personally, if we get some unknown French player for < 10 mil and an aging Italian striker with a god-awful goals/games ratio, that won't be enough.

You can't say Wenger has been "too ambitious" this summer then say you've no idea who he's gone for - that's completely contradictory.

You can theorise & speculate all you want about reasons and bids and ideas but the only thing that counts is

In:
Sanogo
Flamini

That's it. In the summer of promised spectacular signings, in the summer of finally competing with the big boys, in the summer of this is Wengers last chance to prove he's still got it, he has, without a shadow of a doubt, universally proven that he does not.

Er... Everything regarding transfers is speculation. No one has any idea what is happening. Your assertion that he has "Lost it" is equally speculative and even more vague than my assertion, which is based on the same facts as you base your assertion on.

Moreover, it is far more likely that Wenger is being highly selective, because he has said God knows how many times that he is being very selective, than he has "Lost it", whatever that means.

Again, use of all these vague terms for Wegner, "Lost it" etc. just shows how little anyone knows about signing players. You can't even name what it is you think he is doing wrong, or has lost.

Any decent twattersphere rumours out there tonight ?

We could really do with a shot in the arm before the NLD on Sunday

There's one insane rumour doing the rounds

Futbol_Mercado ‏@Futbol_Mercado 18m
El Arsenal ofrece 82 millones de euros al Real Madrid por los pases de Mesut Ozil, Angel Di María y Karim Benzema.

82 million euro's is £70 million. To get all three (by my estimates) would cost £95 million, so if this is right, our offer is disgustingly low, and it's designed to be rejected.
