That's true, you would have a dangerous front line with all those players. Problem is your bench strength, simularly with us. All I can say is with 3 new managers coming in and with Fergie gone, the league will be the most open it's been for ages. The Prem is looking quite strong this coming season, with Swansea and even West Ham strengthening, easy points are no longer easy to come by. I don't think a trip to West Ham will be quite as welcome by some.

We're close to signing that lb from Granada though and still think we'll pick up a CB
I think we won't be too bad, with gerrez' line-up we will still have Aspas, Alberto, Sterling and Ibe to come off the bench and all can play on the wings. Much better options than Downing
That's a different argument. I'm with you on this - the window has been a bit of bust so far. It tells us nothing about where we stand on Gustavo or how much work the club are doing behind the scenes on his transfer however.

We have depth in the attacking areas (although a couple of them are young such as Sterling and Ibe but that's going to be the case in our situation) but lack defensive players. We need a CB, LB and DM
Aspas, Ibe and Alberto are unknowns but Sterling is a good one. Who knowns, if you one or two of them come good then you're in business. Our bench is ok but nothing to write home about. It'll be a big year for OXO, Ramsey etc to move to that next level.
Agreed, letting Gervinho go at the moment is looking bad if we don't replace him sharpish.

Either way they will have to hit the ground running if you want that Champs league spot. If you get Willian, your chances will have improved alot.

I'd love Willian (as much as I'd have loved Henri Ryan or Eriksen) and he would make our attack much better but a DM is massively more important IMO.
CB isn't such an issue at the moment if Skrtel and Coates remain at the club (I don't rate either so I'd rather we sold both and brought one CB in, Wisdom/Kelly can share the other spot).
LB can be covered by Johnson and, to a more desperate state, Agger and Flanagan.
However, DM is very much a needed position because we only have Lucas.

Not really a signing I want but we need some squad cover. If he could still do a job then he'll be cheap and cheerful and happy to be benched.
