John Cross thinks we're giving up on Suarez, and he reckons we're after Michu or Dzeko instead. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/transfers-arsenal-make-new-plans-2162885 What that really means is we're still after Suarez and have no intention of going after Dzeko or Michu.
Owen was actually very good for Madrid. I think he had the highest goals to minutes ration of any striker their, but they just didn't want to put him ahead of fat ronaldo etc.
There are some absolute bargains to be had from Farnborough FC - we should make some sneaky bids; http://www.farnboroughfc.co.uk/2013/08/by-far-the-greatest-team-the-world-has-ever-seen/ Full Squad List: Kevin Ainsley SCRIVEN Gordon BANKS Goalkeeper Joshua Adam HUGGINS Lothar MATTHAUS Defender Oliver George TREACHER Silva Rocha ROBERTO CARLOS Defender Adam Hugh DOYLE Paolo MALDINI Defender Alan Francis INNS Alan HANSEN Defender Paul Jinnah MASSAQUOI Marcos Evangelista de Moraes CAFU Defender Djibril FOFANA John TERRY Defender Thomas Andrew McGARRY Franz BECKENBAUER Defender Reece Nicholas JONES George BEST Midfield Stephen Thomas LAIDLER Paul GASCOIGNE Midfield Merrick Anthony JAMES-LEWIS Zinedine ZIDANE Midfield Tyrone Michael Justin BERRY Johann CRUYFF Midfield Daniel BENNETT Lionel MESSI Strikers Reece William CONNOLLY Gary LINEKER Strikers David Charles TARPEY Diego MARADONA Strikers Elvis Zark HAMMOND Edson Arantes do Nascimento PELE Strikers Spencer DAY José MOURINHO Manager Leigh James Thomas DYNAN Paddy POWER Assistant Manager Simon John GARDENER Sir Alex Fergurson First-Team Coach Roger Leslie PEIRCE Terry Venables Kit Man
Not opposed to our acquiring Dzeko, but, the names being bandied around are a little too well known. Is there no more left field left? Can't see Citeh doing what Liverpool wouldn't.
Gustavo is supposedly making his decision today, though again I'll take any rumour with a pinch of salt. What annoys me about the Perez business is that, if he's a genuine talent, he'll be snapped up by a European club that doesn't have to worry about securing a work permit.
Can't remember a single instance when we've managed to secure a work permit for any young talent (he's not young but still).
With Swansea buying Bony, will they want to sell Michu now? They don't have a bad team with both Michu and Bony now.
I really don't think Swansea would sell him at a price that would make a move vaible for the buyer. Plus with those two upfront they could be in for a good season. I expect them to be mixing it with Liverpool and Everton.
Agree with you both. They have a good manager and some good players, maybe they can reach that coveted 4th spot? They ave a decent strike force to make the best take notice and the manger to take advantage.
http://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/luiz-gustavo/laeuft-da-was-mit-barca-31820672.bild.html Arsenal are in competition with Barcelona, Inter Milan and Napoli to sign Bayern Munich's 26-year-old Brazil international midfielder Luiz Gustavo, according to German newspaper Bild. Bloody Napoli again, is Rafa stalking us or something. If Barca are interested then that's a big problem.
I think Napoli sense now is the time to strike. Lazio, Roma, AC and Inter are all poor at the moment, so if they invest they will be the alternative to Juve. The Arsenal to their Manu if you like.
