Through the magic of Google Translate: The Barca link seems to be based on the desire to sign him a year ago. I'm assuming the signing of Song was to replace Keita, so I can't see the need for Gustavo at Camp Nou. We'll wait and see either way.
I'll be dissapointedif we wanted Perez and can't have him due to work permit problems... I think he would have been a decent addition to the squad and helped add abit of depth back to the team. He'd be a good Frimpong/Coq replacement. We need Gustavo or a first teamer as well, but i'mdissapointed if this is true. Even our free transfers seem to be hitting snags now
I did think about putting that but think its starting to get a bit tedious. But yes, you are right of course, it should be £40,000,001
Assuming you get this guy the NLD midfield battle is going to be quite something! ------Capoue------ Sandro-----Paulinho VS Cazorla-----Wilshire ------Gustavo------ With the potential for either Dembele or Arteta in there. I'm really looking forward to this!
Would be interesting. I think there's more creativity from that Arsenal 3 but the Spurs midfield is physically very strong
As Much as I would love us to sign Gustavo I honestly dont think we are trying to. Bayern are willing to sell, He wants to come to Arsenal... all we have to do is bid. He will probably end up at Napoli - at least Benitez is'nt afraid to spend some money. All the bids we have made this Summer have been half-arsed. For me if Wenger ****s up this window it's time for him to go.
Agreed, though I think our midfield would be deployed to negate your midfield offensive ability and rely on Lennon, Bale, Soldado and/or Chadli to get through you, with Walker and Rose supporting.
I agree. Even the most forgiving posters on this site said at the start of the summer that if Wenger failed to strengthen then it would be unforgivable. So, here we are, three days from the start of the season and bugger all. 17 days until the window closes. I really hope they have a serious plan and intent to bring in quality additions or there will be unprecedented outrage from fans. If we fail to qualify for the CL this season then there is nothing and no-one Wenger can blame but himself. I find it breathtaking that after qualifying by the skin of our teeth two seasons in a row and with the signings Spurs have made that such a relaxed attitude to transfers has been adopted this summer. What a joke. Strengthen or **** off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would'nt be my first choice at all but I dont think that's really the question we should be asking. Is Wenger still good enough to win the league 'his way' in this day and age? Personally I doubt he is. He's still a good manager but is he still good enough? I cant help but think he's starting to remind me of the likes of Clough. A once truly great progressive manager refusing to change or adapt with the times.
Bring in a Gustavo and Suarez and we are back in business but I just cant see either deal actually happening. I hope I am wrong though.
We most certainly have the creative edge, but Spurs's midfield is looking quite strong. It all goes down to who can consistently grind out the results all season. They most certainly have the squad to do this now, and if they keep Bale, then they will get top 4, especially with 3 new managers coming in. Our first team can test the best in the league, but we really are thin squad wise and a few injuries away from a crisis. I would be suprised if we didn't strengthen.
Just because you aren't hearing anything, it doesn't mean to say the club aren't trying to get him. Wait until we find out either way.
The season starts in 3 days! Say we sign Gustavo and Suarez on deadline day, but we're already 6 points off the top of the league; that won't exactly be a successful window. Who knows how long it will take those players to adapt after that. Starting the season with signings who have adapted to the team by playing friendlies is already impossible. We've already ****ed it up to an extent. Now it's just a matter of how much more ****ed up things get.
Liverpool open transfer talks with Anzhi for £100k per week Brazilian winger Willian http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-transfer-news-talks-opened-2165659 Liverpool have opened transfer talks with Anzhi over Brazilian winger Willian. Liverpool are targeting Willian after Anzhi indicated they are willing to offload the Samba star just eight months after buying him from Shakhtar Donetsk for £32million as they slash costs. Brendan Rodgers wants a marquee signing and has set his sights on Willian, who is also wanted by Tottenham, after failing to land Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Diego Costa. The Reds are yet to talk figures and Anzhi would want to recoup most of the fee they paid for the 25-year-old Willian. Liverpool would also have to pick up the former Corinthians star's £100,000-a-week wages. Liverpool's interest is not dependent on Luis Suarez's future and the club do not need to sell the Uruguayan to land Willian. Looks like Liverpool are really going for that BIG signing (it also says Spurs are interested?). He did well last season with 8 goals and 15 assists. Looks like an exciting and skillful player and someone we could go for. He's a Left Winger so not sure that would interest Wenger.
