Gustavo is available on the market, and with a bid of 15-16 million, he'd be ours, it's not a complicated deal to make. But nah, Arsenal would much prefer giving a trial to some unknown Colombian? 20 year midfielder to sign on a free.

3 weeks to go until the end of the transfer window and no signings! Even I, a total pessimist wasn't expecting this. Especially after the bold rhetoric at the end of last season. 21 days to pull something out of the bag or a humiliating season beckons . . .

What Wenger said among others in the press conference (which arsenal.com didn't include in the transcript)

"We have very good young players, you know, and what we want is that these players develop. That is one way to strengthen the team. The other way is of course, to make the squad better by buying players, but we have what is needed and (even though) transfers are an important part but now is the time for us to focus on the players we have and focus on the way we want to play. If we manage to do something before the season starts it will be good."

Huge Article by Metro saying we have agreed deal with Bayern to sign Gustavo.

Suarez for £50+ or Michu for £15+.

Easy choice, or.......?

Swansea won't sell Michu for less than £25m IMO <ok>

I'm not saying he is worth that much (certainly after just 70% of a season), just think Swansea will want top money for him.

Jeezus - if we spent £25m on Michu I'd throw a wobbly like HIAG

Totally understand that. We've had a few discussions about Michu ourselves, he is a signing that I would completely object to. Not only for the excessive amount of money that Swansea would want to screw out of us (again), but he would be yet another potential one-season-wonder signing, aka Adam, Carroll, Downing, etc. He didn't even do a full season, he stopped playing after they won the League Cup.
