Big time, he is the exact kind of player our team has been crying out for over the last couple of years. I would even say this is a position of greater need than forward.
As I've said numerous times Gustavo would be perfect but I honestly dont think we have shown an ounce of interest. Gustavo has'nt agreed to go to Wolfsburg because he would prefer to play in the EPL, that does'nt mean we are going to take any notice of this however.
I don't know if it is incompetence. I'm curious, what do you do for a living. It must be something fairly easy to do perfectly. You seem to have the impression that any error constitutes extreme stupidity.
Ok so the 3 facts you present us with to prove this being an incompetant window are that the season hasn't started yet (good), that we have shipped out all the deadwood (good) and that we have signed one player so far (more would be good but we have no idea whats going on and would be stupid to assume incompetance is the only reason transfers could be held up). Just wait for the window to close and then decide how competantly the club have acted. How a couple of you can be so SURE that the only possible reason for us not having the players in we want is because of incompetance from Wenger and the board is just beyond me, it really is. Your the same fans slating him who will be singing his praises if he does get afew top quality signingswrapped up, so rather than putting down the clubs officials lets wait andlet them do there joband them judge them basedo n how well they do rather than how impatient we are feeling?
The difference is that they get paid vast quantities of money because they're supposed to be the best in the business. So it's only fair they get questioned when they seem incapable of doing what other clubs do
Just because we haven't got in players at the date you want them it means the club aren't capable? I think everyone needs to chill out and see what actually happens before all deciding we are being led by incompetant monkey men.
This is absolutely true. When someone does something well, praise them. When they do something wrong, they get criticised. It's far too late to integrate any players for the difficult CL Playoff tie, and it's highly unlikely they'd do well for the first month or two of the season. Shifting the deadwood has been needed for years - praise for that, despite it being several years late in happening. It is still an abject failure to have made one signing, on a free, with the season so close to beginning for a team who are supposed to be challenging for the title this season.
Are we still planning for the future? That makes the second young player we've signed. I'm so excited, we have such a rosy future.
i dont get paid 7 million quid , therefore i am allowed the odd faux pas. I dont have the job of a high profile football manager . He has to ANSWER for his mistakes and cant just shrug his shoulders. The rewards are high , the expectations are high . The price of FAILURE should be high .
I would have thought that in order to judge the transfer window you have to wait and see how it ends up... there are still 24 days to go.
I really can't see how Wenger and co can be defended for not signing anyone so late into the transfer window, and with a big budget at that. Oh wait we have a Sanogo on a free. The man is a seasoned and very experienced Manager who knows whats what. He gets paid handsomely for it too. They've done a good thing in getting rid of the deadwood, but failed to strengthen the squad. You are right, we are so close to the season that any preparation will be rushed and unnecessary pressure will be placed on the new and current players to perform. Really poor stuff from our management.
This is what I'm doing, but I suppose it's more entertaining to speculate, combobulate and pull your hair out .....
There are 24 days before the transfer window closes, but the UCL qualifiers END before that date, and theoretically, it is possible we could get knocked out. Why not strengthen the squad, which does need it, before the crucial UCL qualifiers? And if we do sign players on transfer day deadline, the players won't be able to properly integrate into the team, and will rather have to be thrown straight in, and as we've seen in the past, that hasn't exactly worked out for the best. Why not get the signings done well before the season starts, so the new players can have a chance to train+play with the team, to learn the system, to get as comfortable as possible with their new team and surroundings before the season begins. Seriously, those of you going on about how there's still time left to sign players are playing ****ing stupid because you want to purposely ignore these facts. And as I said, we could be out of the UCL before the transfer period even ends, so then what's the ****ing point by then anyway? Before any comptetition, when you're capable, you look to strengthen your team, to give you the best possible chance, we have big competitions coming up, with the start of the league, and the UCL playoffs, yet **** all has been done to strengthen us for these competitions, and it's most likely nothing will get done. Unless there are some fans here (and I wouldn't be surprised) who consider Sanago, and rumoured signing of this unknown Moroccan after a trial, as strengthening the squad.
Come now Arsenal87... Give AW a chance, the market moved very quickly you know and he's always ready to pounce...
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...and-Manchester-City-target-Geoffrey-Kondogbia Linked with Kondogbia again. I know he's young, but this kid is the real deal.
From what i've seen of him, he's a dirty bastard, likes to dish it out, but doesn't mind rolling around like a ninny when he needs to.
