The Higuain 3 / 5 year deal is an interesting one from a fans perspective.

Would people rather we missed out if his advisors stuck to a 3 year deal and we risked losing him after two years and potentially £35m. Or would people whinge about Wenger / Gazidis if they stuck to a 5 year deal, thereby protecting the club's interests ?

There is a chance that the payments will be made over 3 years, and that 3 years is not the term of the contract.

Bentner is becoming like a turd that just wont flush, I wish he would just take a pay cut and be done with it, he simply is not good enough to expect massive wages, here is a noval idea, go out and prove your worth with a club then they might be willing to pay you more.
A turd that Arsenal shat out I'm afraid. We gave him those wages, and if he's a player who would rather be collecting money than playing football, there's nothing we can do.

Is there not a way you could terminate him on the cheap relating to his criminal conviction this year? I swear most people risk losing their jobs over drink driving charges...

The risk you take giving some players too much too early. He wasn't the only problem we had, others include the wonderful Denilson. I still to this day have my doubts if he was Brazilian!

Hey! It is like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with some images to drive the content home a bit, besides that, this is great forum post. A good read. I will definitely revisit again.

Such insight

If we've allowed Coq to leave, then we must be signing a CM/DM because we're getting quite thin around that area now.

Then again though, this is us, so anything could happen.

The fact we bid for Bender and allowed Coquelin to go out on loan pretty proves that Wenger is after a Top Class DM/CM.

I really think we need 2 DMs. Over the years we have let go of Diarra, Gilberto, Flamini, Denilson, Song, Coquelin (Diaby is also a write off). Who have we brought in to replace them? In 10/11 we played Jack in a deep role although I don't think Wenger sees him there anymore. As for Arteta, he has performed admirably in an unfamiliar role but he is certainly not a long term fix.

If we do sign Fellaini (I believe it will happen), what happens if he gets injured? He has suffered quite a few nasty injuries and once you put on the red and white the likelihood of you picking up another injury increases tenfold. Wenger admitted last Summer before Song was sold that we were 'short' in his position. Since then he has been sold, Jack pushed further forward, Coquelin is gone and even Wenger has to believe that relying on Diaby is suicidal. So if we were 'short' then, what the hell are we now? We need two holding players, Fellaini and I would also like to sign Kongdobia who has massive potential and considering his age may be happy to be more of a squad player for the next year or so.

Rumours that Bendtner is talking to Malaga over a possible transfer.Fair play to them, they sell us Cazorla & Monreal and now they want to give us money for that useless Danish twat.

We can only hope. Problem with Bendtner is that he was on the 'verge' of leaving way too many times. Sadly, I fear that we won't properly get rid of him until his contract runs out.
