Chances are he's already been tapped up, looks very much like the situations we had with Nasri and RVP
We are soo cheap sometimes. Sagna deserves a high pay rise. He has earned it with consistent performances. If he goes to City it will only be for the money.
I have to be honest that I like Sagna as a player, but I don't think we should be breaking the bank to sign him to a contract. We aren't getting the same incisive running down the right that we used to get 3 years ago from Sagna. He is just a little slower getting out there to defend as well. He is having a dodgy game a little more often, or perhaps I should say a dodgy spell in a game. Still a great player, but you have to worry about whether he will still be great next year.
Wouldn't you "have to worry" then that we probably won't replace him with even a slightly worse RB than he is at this point in his career? Your worry of a lowered quality in 1-2 years time when essentially we'll have a poorer RB position immediately after he leaves. Buying a RB won't be anywhere near the clubs priorities even if he goes. Significant downgrade, plain and simple.
He's definitely had his best years at Arsenal, so if he does go it could be that the time is right. The problem is though we will need to replace him with somebody better than Jenkinson, as much as I like the lad he's not of the required standard, yet.
I don't know what Wenger's priorities are. I would think that if Sagna goes we would have to sign someone. I have no idea who that would be. I don't know how you would be any different to me, in this regard.
From last time we saw him play significantly, Id say Jenkinson is certainly good enough going forward, he also has better recover pace than Sagna now, so he can perhaps get away with some mistakes that Sagna can't. I think he needs to work on his decision-making and positioning, both of which tend to come with experience. At some point he is going to get his chance I suspect. I don't think we have seen enough of him this season to really know how well he will do when he gets that chance.
He's quick going forward and he's got a great cross on him, but he's a bit of a one trick pony for me. You know he's going to bomb forward and put in a cross as soon as he can. So he's a bit easy to read. Also defensively as you mention his positioning needs work. Overall he's a decent player and if he can add some dynamism to his game he could be a really good player. I guess he needs the experience to gain that, so perhaps we should give him the opportunity. Also Bellerin looks like he'll be a really good RB too, I suppose the trouble is that both of these players are not the finished article whereas Sagna is, so the likelihood is that we will be weakened in that area initially if Sanga goes and we don't replace him.
I think he's still got another 2-3 years at the top. This whole 'any player over 30 is now past his best' attitude in football makes NO SENSE. I don't think there are many right backs out there that we can bring in and would give us much (if any)improvement on Sagna. And would the expenditure be worth it? - For me it makes little no sense to let Sagna leave.
We've also got a young guy with a double-barrelled name which I forget and an impressive hairdo that looks pretty good. Er... the player I mean, not the hairdo. Although that does look... er ...impressive like I said.
I'm a fan of Sagna, but he doesn't exactly pump in the quality crosses does he? If we could get a more creative RB who doesn't neglect his defensive duties it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.
Sagna replacement of similar quality will cost £15m+, are we going to spend that kind of money on a full back ? Unlikely. So yet again we'll start next season worse off than we finished this one.....
Hi guys, I see you guys have been linked with Danny Welbeck, id personally be happy for us to offload him, as we have to many players in that position. So was just wondering would you guys actually want him? Do you rate him? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...-transfers-manchester-uniteds-welbeck-3462003
He is, without doubt, one of the worst 'rated' players to ever play for United. Seriously, the only teams that would buy someone like him would be clubs like Sunderland, West Ham and Stoke. And you'd get about £5m max and even that would be a ripoff. He's like Web Brown, John O'Shea et al. Having a squad with cr@p like him in is why you've done so badly this year. If AW does seriously buy him (he wont) then he really will surely lose the faith of the last of those that give him their full backing. Simply Google 'tekkers Welbeck youtube' for a perfect summary of his ability.
So, in light of today's transfer rumours, who would people prefer? Remy, Benzema or Ballotelli? Personally, I would go for Ballotelli, he's a nutter, granted. But he's also a precocious talent and can win matches on his own.
Absolute moron lol. Hes no world beater but he would walk into yours and chelseas starting line ups every single day of the week. Hes far superior to any striker in london.
If welbeck played 38 games like he would at Arsenal he would bag 20 goals. He would fit in at Arsenal very well. For that reason I hope if he leaves it is to you guys.
Why are the United WUMs out in force today? Is beating Norwich at home now considered to be a rousing, confidence-building result at Old Trafford?
