Possibly just fitness issues? I'd like Rosicky to stay on past the summer. Even if he is on high wages he is a very useful player to have in the squad. Our main target should be a striker of the same quality as our january target David Villa. Then a DM to add better balance to our midfield options - I'd be happy with Capoue, or another player that fits the mould. I'd quite like a CB but only if it's a TOP quality CB and we may need a RB depending on the Sagna situation. But i also think we would benefit from getting in a player like Isco, he can be used in midfield or out wide and is a skillful player. We need more options like this out wide as we have pacey options and striker type options, but with Arshavin likely on his way out we don't have many mata/hazard type wide players.
Nope. Other than maybe Wenger favours Wilshere, Cazorla, Arteta, with the occasional Diaby or Ramsey for strictly complex tactical reasons?
Rosicky got injured in the Euro's so missed pre-season, and that has clearly affected his season. But, I think now he should be given a run of games, maybe play him in that role behind the forward, or out wide on the left. Rosicky,Cazorla and Wilshere are players good enough to create chances, and retain possession, because at the moment that's the only way we can defend.
anyone thought about a line up of rosicky, wilshere and cazorla all interchanging in the three positions behind the striker? stick walcott up front with them behind him and he should get enough chances to score a few. plus cazorla and rosicky have both been known as goalscorers in the past.
One of the problems is that we do not have a top forward who can link up with these players. Walcott's link up play when playing through the middle is poor. That certain Dutchmen would have enjoyed playing and linking up with players like Rosicky,Cazorla and Wilshere. These are players on the same wavelength.
If he wants to chop his wages in half... Though Rooney developed very early and I believe he's past his peak. He's also a thug. He would be better than Giroud, but I'd rather have Jovetic.
I would take him in a flash, but his wages are ludacrous (thanks Man U!). Playing through the centre for us, he would easily get 20+ goals for us with the support of Cazorla and Wilshere. He will be able to adapt and interchange with our front line up and score from any side. It's a shame we no longer buy big players anymore.
Yeah exactly. We have real quality AM's like Wilshere and Carzorla its upfront where we are woefully short. Giroud is a workhorse but he's nowhere near Rooney's quality. Walcott has struggled against the deeper defences. Podolski well..Wenger is seeminglu unwilling to try him down the middle. The thing I like about Rooney is that he's the kind of player that scores when it's most needed. . Im not sure about his attitude though.
Benike Afobe suffered cruciate ligament damage and will be out for up to 9 months. Shame about that as he is a promising youngster.
I think these media rumours about Rooney should be taken with a pinch of salt. It's a case of adding 2+2 and getting 5.I can't see Rooney leaving Stretford any time soon.
He isn't picked for the starting eleven in a game and that's meant to signify the end of his Stretford career. It's just the usual case of the media looking for a cheap headline.
As for Rooney, no thanks. He is going to be 28 and by just looking at him, you can see that he won't last for much longer long at the top level. The guy is clearly not a great professional.
I know its the Metro but there's a story today saying that Wenger is interested in a no-mark 20 year old striker from the French league. If we get him over Jovetic then I will have given up on him ever changing and be calling for his head. http://metro.co.uk/2013/03/07/arsenal-poised-to-move-for-french-striker-yaya-sanogo-3531824/ Probably bullshit though, hopefully
