For the record I'm not saying we should definitely sign Saha, but if he's on a free then I don't see where the harm is in bringing him (or someone similar) in just as insurance more than anything else.
I'd rather take the wages Saha would demand and give it to Bale
I'd rather give Bale Ade's wages. Plus Bentley and Gallas'.
Bale can have my wages too if he wants them!

Fiorentina offered £10m for Gomez but Bayern want £15m according to beeb gossip. We should be sniffing around that. I'm not a massive fan of Gomez but i would happily take him for that price.
Villa + Gomez for the price now being quoted for Negredo is a no brainer as far as i'm concerned.
LEVY!
ooops, i mean:
BALDY!
Edit - should point out that 'Baldy' is Baldini and not Levy's hair state
That's actually crazy when you look it at like that. Both are easily better than Negredo (though don't get me wrong, I'd have Negredo at Spurs in a heartbeat too) and yet their combined values match what Sevilla are asking for him.
I saw Huddelestone rumored to Sunderland for 5 million. I wouldn't sell him for less than 10, if that, because he really does add another dimension to the squad as it stands. There's no one with his range of passing. Even though he hardly played last year, you'd have to chalk up the Man City win to his influence. Played appropriately all year, he could mean some key points--worth considerably more than 5 million.
The downside is he's slow, and shouldn't be used against the fastest and most aggressive midfields (like Chelsea). But against most, especially now that it seems he'll be flanked by some combination of Sandro, Dembélé and Paulinho, he could be just what we need to unlock defenses, even more so since the only other playmaker, Carroll, probably won't see too much action, and the other player who can get Bale into open space (Beni) is probably on his way. Unfortunately.
How come our transfers always take so long??!
It's all well and good advocating getting rid of all our strikers but are there really better out there we have a realistic chance of getting. There aren't loads of good strikers out there for under £20 million waiting to be snapped up!
I would definitely keep Defoe and give Adebayor one more season to prove himself.

Someone I work with is a big Dundee United fan and a part-time Gooner. He won't know what to think of his side signing two ex-Spurs youth players.
It's still nice to see them getting professional contracts, though. Most of our youth players over the past decade or so seem to have vanished from the face of the Earth, so it's a step up from that.
