Right, all the music nerds like me have seemingly contributed. So, what are your 5 favourite albums of all time?!

Mine would have to be:

Fleetwood Mac - Rumours
Michael Jackson - Bad
Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Rage Against The Machine - Self titled
Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power

The best I ever saw were:

Buddy Holly & the Crickets.

Duane Eddy & the Rebels.

Bill Haley & The Comets.

The Everly Brothers who had The Crickets backing them after the death of Buddy Holly.

The Beatles.

The Verve- Urban Hymns
Radiohead- OK Computer
Stevie Wonder- Songs In The Key Of Life
The Stone Roses- Self titled
The Smiths- Hatful Of Hollow

Possibly Elbow- The Seldom Seen Kid.

I fear I am going to be too modern for this post.

Plan B
Oasis
Enter Shikari
Chase and Status
Young Money

I also have a bit of a guilty pleasure for Take That.

If we are going by just musicians, I have to mention Drake, his new stuff is quality.

Siriusmo,
Boys Noize,
Booka Shade,
Daft Punk,
Digitalism

Also honourable mentions to Etienne De Crecy, Mr Oizo, MSTRKRFT, Death from above 1979, Simian Mobile Disco, Fake Blood, Switch, Diplo and Switch & Diplo's side project Major Lazer.

Right, all the music nerds like me have seemingly contributed. So, what are your 5 favourite albums of all time?!

Radiohead - Kid A
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
The Smiths - Self Titled
Blur - Parklife
Pearl Jam - 10

I would actually like to swap Chase and Status for Green Day. Love a bit of Green Day's stuff from early 2000's.

I used to love Chase & Status about 3 years ago when they played to half full nightclubs, as they became more famous they sold out for the big record deal and went as commercial as Pendulum.
Can't really slag them off for it as I would do the same for the ££, but it doesn't mean I have to like their new music!
Plus I saw them year before last at evolution and they were literally just crossfading (they weren't even beatmatching!) between their own CDs on CDJs and passing it off as a live set.
It's not live unless I see them with Ableton on their macbooks and midi controllers or a hefty stack of synths, drum machines and the like, but I'm a DJ/Producer myself, so more likely to notice these things than the average punter!

5 Fav Albums

Rush Hemispheres
Deep Purple Made in Japan (The best totally undubbed live album ever recorded)
Metallica The Black Album
AC/DC Back in Black
Motorhead No Sleep till Hammersmith

I never understand the hype over Oasis. They write things like

"Slowly walking down the hall, faster than a cannonball"

So they're walking slowly, but still really fast. Erm, what?

That makes their crappy lyrics okay then! ;)

It's not just their lyrics that are crap, if you ever get the chance, listen to their songs in a proper music studio, they're awfully mixed and mastered and compressed loads (I'd blame the loudness wars, but that only goes so far!).

Got another list of artists who are definite favourites:
Josh Ritter,
Ryan Adams (not Bryan - that isn't a typo!),
Bob Dylan,
Led Zeppelin,
Pink Floyd

Also honourable mentions to The Ramones, The Cure, Fink and a fair few others I'm probably missing out. I have such a wide genre spanning love of music, it's impossible to name just a few favourite bands for me :).
