I was hooked on Buddy Holly and The Crickets the first time I heard the introduction to That'll Be The Day on the radio at work. ( Giving something away there! ) My biggest claim to fame was actually seeing them live at the City Hall shortly before the fatal air crash that killed Buddy and the Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens who'd all been on the same bill at the City Hall. A sad loss indeed!

    The Day the Music Died.

Also a huge shout out to Jimmy Eat World, Mumford and Sons, Biffy Clyro, The Enemy and Pigeon Detectives.

I sold my ticket for Pendulum in December, I was absolutely gutted I couldn't go :(

Saw them live at Godiva Festival in Coventry one year, wasn't impressed if I'm honest.

Far from it, I used to listen to a lot of Linkin Park. I like a few of KoL's songs and Biffy Clyro are immense. <ok>

Biffy are brilliant live! They supported muse at Wembley in September (9/11 it was) and they were epic. Almost got crushed in the mosh pit but still brilliant. White Lies were also there. What a day...

Yes, The Enemy are from Coventry, not yorkshire. My bad.

Nickelback need a mention, they were good live. Cheers me up when the toon got relegated lol.

And Travis. I MUST mention travis.

It's won me over! Didn't take as long to get into as Kid A but it certainly has something! I'm addicted to it currently, everything else sounds quite flat and boring compared to it.

I agree! I'm really enjoying Lotus Flower and Codex at the moment. It's a short album but you can just tell they've put a hell of a lot into all eight songs. Great stuff.

Codex is the best song on it for me, one of their best songs to date I think!

Top five bands for me would be:

    Rush
    Deep Purple
    Queen
    Van Halen
    Thin Lizzy

PS. I was at a 21st birthday party tonight, and the dancefloor rocked the most when pre-1990's bands were on!
