Travelling back from Portpatrick today on the A75, and going past the Newton Stewart turn off I thought of you Smug. Hope all is well, and best of luck for the future.A lot better thanks mate.
We leave Scotland tomorrow and off to a place called Sunderland, in the NE, for the night ...
... looking for some entertainment if you know of anything going on![]()

I don't care if he looks unhappy or not, and I definitely don't think he's another Moyes (dour and defeatist.)sad reality is that a lot of our social media “fans” are using his “happiness” as a their reason to not want him. At nothing as to how he plays football and develops youngsters. Good luck Tony. Hope you’re here for years
I think it's good thing Evans already knows him, he'll have given the players a bit of insight into TM and his ways, can only help . I actually think he'll be good for the club, I know a few people who know him from the Teeside end, and it's all positive. Good luck to him, I hope he does well here. You must log in or register to see images
Celtic?I welcome him with open arms for two reasons -
A - Everybody deserves a chance.
B - I'll support anybody who's doing his best to look after my team.
And therefore, good luck Mogga !
That said, a part of me winces when I hear his name.
Why?
Way back In 1990, when I was doing my badges, I was at Ayresome Park as part of a group representing the Sports Council and the FA, helping to promote local FA Schools of Excellence. During this particular day, Mowbray didn't do himself any favours regarding him representing his Club, or representing himself as professional footballer.
All the kids were playing 5-a-side and 11-a-side matches, and they all took part in a Penalty Prize comp. Bobby Robson was also there. All the kids wore their own footy kits. I remember Mobray saying a few disrespectful things about SAFC and towards the kids warring Sunderland colours.
I remember a young lad warring a Sunderland top actually won the Penalty Prize comp. Bobby Robson presented the lad his trophy.
Mobray quipped something like – Nice kid, shame about his team. Sunderland think they’re a big club, they even think they’re bigger than the Boro.
Peter Davenport said – How do you rate a Club big? – Mobray said – History, Cups and Crowd? Davenport said – You haven’t thought that through then, have you? I laughed at that.
Mobray wasn’t shutting up though, he then said that Sunderland fans are nothing but ‘Plastic Geoerdies’....The kid and the kid’s dad heard this and weren’t happy.
I walked away. Soon afterwards, I saw Bobby Robson and Davenport chatting. Mobray was told to apologise to the kid and his dad.
I’ll never forget that morning.
Ps, That following season, who did Davenport sign for?
Anyhow, I can forgive, but I won't forget.
You are our manager now Mogga....the biggest Club you have ever been involved with.
All we ask for, is for you to give 100%...and we'll will be behind you all the way....
Good post that mate. I reckon after 30 years we can forgive that, but you are right not to forget. Surprising how worda or actions of players can affect kids and he should have been better.I welcome him with open arms for two reasons -

Great post, we aren't bigger than Celtic but reading your post got me thinking about how we measure a "big" club.I welcome him with open arms for two reasons -
