Aye but he played footy. Was in a good academy. I'm sure I'm wrong, he's obviously rated highly for a good reason. Just makes me a bit nervous
All appointments make me nervous as you never know how theyll do He seems the most exciting manager that weve been linked in, wouldnt be surprised if we annouce someone that's not been mentioned by anyone
Aye, I don't think we've heard the new fellas name yet. Got the big calls right so far so hopefully that continues
Klopp was a sh*te footballer, great manager. Steve Bruce good footballer, sh*te manager. Football isn’t what it used to be it there’s so much data driving the game that being a good footballer back in the day means nout. Individual talent has probably never meant as little as it does now.
Haway man. Bruce may not be remembered fondly for us but he must have managed over 400 top flight games. That is not a sign of a crap manager.
When you see him on the Wrexham thing it's difficult to believe he's managing several tiers below what would be considered his level. He's just so limited.
Hardly. 400 games at the top level is not participation. Clubs appointed him for a reason and that was at the time he was a very good coach and manager and one who could pick up some very good players. This idea he was rubbish is just nonsense in my opinion.
Hard to disagree, really. Bruce had us playing some great stuff at one point. We had a good team and he had our forwards firing.
It's quite literally participation. I'm not saying he was terrible by any means but he was just a servicable and familiar face on the merry-go-round for many years.
He was good at that first bit - buying players and getting them started. When we hit any kind of snag though, his only solution was to go and buy new players. Anything that required actual management was a problem.
Bit harsh for me. He certainly was big on recruitment, but he couls also get teams punching above their weight in my opinion. Did a cracking job at Birmingham overall, then Wigan. Those two jobs got him the gig with us and at that time it was a pretty sound appointment in my opinion.
and he did fairly well with us until the end. That Gyan and Bent and Welbeck front three with Zenden and Hendo behind. Fond memories

But at Brighton he achieved nothing and at Leeds, he so misread the mood of the Club, Supporters and Players, that he lasted only 44 days. So, you never can tell.
