But that's just a conspiracy theory isn't it or do you have actual info on that?
The more this apparent stubbornbess with the formation goes on from manager to manager, the more I believe that interference may be quite significant.
No info, I just genuinely do believe there is interference from above.

Biggest difference in an attacking sense to two years ago is Che Adams imo.
Yeah Stu was better than anything we have now but we have that sort of player at least.
Whereas we don't have a Che equivalent with Stewart's fitness issues.
Fair point but he did switch to 3 CBs for the last 3 or 4 including wembley so that was maybe influencing my thinking.
We definitely played a back 3 after Baz got injured. Not before that though.

Yeah this is why it’s obviously bollocks. 1 of the 6 managers or whatever it is would have said something if they were being told to play a certain way.
What I can believe is that SR possibly hire managers who prefer 5 at the back, rather than telling a manager they have to play that. You could also make the point that the recruitment has been done with 5 at the back in mind so it ties the managers hands to a certain level, although our current squad is big enough to play basically any formation and have enough players to cover that
