Should we sack Ange now?

Can’t say I’m surprised.

22 defeats, no improvement/progress of note, and generally awful performances, where we expected to lose every week.

A Europa trophy against generally quite poor opposition doesn’t paper over the cracks.

extremely grateful to Ange for bringing us success, and our first trophy in years. As much as I despise Levy, I can see why he’s made the decision. - would we be in exactly the same position after 10 games into the new season, with no further improvement? Quite possibly.

Here we go again.

Correct decision but timing stinks. Why wasn’t it done right after the Brighton game?

I really didn’t think the hacks were right with their gossip as I didn’t think even Spurs would wait so long after the season ended to make such a big decision. I genuinely expected him to be manager going into next season.

This doesn’t feel good at all. I’ve enough issues with and doubts about his game but I think he earned the right to build on the EL win in the summer and go again next season.

He’s a good man, proper football, and I’ll always have a place for Ange. We’ll always have Bilbao.

My guess would be Thomas Frank up next.

Levy pulling the trigger on that day
(assuming candidates are already listed)
would be a massive public statement of intent.

Five days after my first suggested date, but soon enough.

Perhaps Powerspurs can have the summer off while
everyone claims/suggests I am Levy, and not he.

< the numbers don't lie >

It's the right decision.

You can tell immediately by the players we're being linked to (another tranche of promising youngsters) that Levy put two and two together and came to the conclusion that we just cannot afford the level of expenditure a manager like Ange needs to be successful in multiple competitions.

We need someone who can work within the parameters at the club as they exist under ENIC. Until they sell up and move on, that isn't going to change. Jose and Conte flopped here because of those parameters. Turns out (no one knew it at the time) Ange was another version of them but with a theoretically better brand of football.

I have absolutely no confidence we'll make a good decision in appointing his successor, but doing this now with the whole summer ahead of us was the right thing at the right time.

I think the timing is eminently sensible.

It was crucial that we gave time for the adrenaline and hangovers to wear off and then sit down and analyse the season in its entirety without emotion and alcohol clouding our judgement.

Sounds like that's exactly what's happend and tbh I expect the announcement was ready earlier but the club didn't want to ruin Ange's time on holiday with his family, which is wholly understandable.
