There's racists among the staff at Buckingham Palace...

I wonder what reasons vast parts of the country find to ignore this one, or to turn the victim into the guilty party.

She certainly seems to be turning herself into a victim.

"She said she felt “violated” after being “interrogated” by Lady Susan."

“But it soon dawned on me very quickly that this was nothing to do with her capacity to understand but this is her trying to make me really denounce my British citizenship.”

"This is like the Windrush thing to me, you are trying to make me unwelcome in my own space.”

A batty old woman is clumsily asking about her origins just like she might ask me about mine and often happens. (Grandad was Scottish from Edinburgh, Grandma was a Geordie from Consett.)

Seriously, people need to get a grip and the chip off their shoulders. The old woman was rude and inappropriate but 'violated and interrogated' and comparing it to Windrush ffs ... really?

She certainly wants her pound of flesh.
Come on lass, where’s your British stiff upper lip? <laugh>
The old lady apologised and retired. So point it out and laugh it off rather than being offended.
Obviously there will be a lot of old racist people around the monarchy. I’m sure Charlie knows he has to clear them out and hopefully he will.

For the 'desperate to be offended' brigade that's definitely not an option.

As I'm an exile I get 'Oh you're a Geordie' a dozen times a year ...

... I no longer bother correcting them, they don't listen, or care.

Me neither, I just laugh it off.

Probably getting coaching from Meghan as we speak. She'll be wallowing in this and dying for the chance to comment

Those very old people (older than me, my parents generation) still often referred to blacks as coloured... those involved/employed by royalty ( other than a fondness for Germans of course) led a very isolated life, some decades behind the rest of us out in the real world.

I do think Harry is somewhat pushy whipped, but before she met him she had made speeches in front of the UN. She is no shrinking violet or pushover. The royal entourage probably did not know what hit them. More than one firm of culture clash. Big ears needs to ensure he has wise heads and employees around him asap.

Although perhaps the worst thing Harry sis was have a win against the Daily Heil...they will want revenge and so most days a disparaging piece will be on the front page.

It certainly is . . . . I woke up at 3 o'clock for a widdle, couldn't get back to the land of nod, gave up and came downstairs at 4:32 :emoticon-0101-sadsm

I've had a drink of water and will play with my 'phone for a bit before having another drink and making the journey up the wooden hill to try again :emoticon-0113-sleep
