    Class that...
I love seeing old/new photos taken from the same place and same viewpoint.

    Brilliant.

Needed a new monobloc mixer tap in the bathroom sink...old one had chrome coming off, so more cosmetic really.
Off to screwfix, tap bought, along with a set of box spanners to reach the retaining nut.
Mrs says leave it till the weekend.
Keen to show off my diy prowess, I thought I would just do it tonight.
Old tap disconnected and removed in 10 minutes. Old pop up waste removed in another 5....
    Champion.

Flexi tails and retaining bolt fitted to new taps, tap in place, retaining bolt tightened.
    Champion.

New pop up waste sealed in place, connected to tap lever. Plug goes up and down like it should.
    Champion.

Connect the flexi tails to the water supply....er, not quite.

The tails supplied were both 1/2 inch female, but for some reason one from the old tap one was 1/2 inch male. Time I discovered this....8.05pm. Five minutes after screwfix closed.
No worries I thought, just connect the one that will fit, and just have cold water connected for one night. Connected, isolating valve opened, tap turned on to check for leaks. It leaked alright.....straight out the unconnected hot water flexi hose.
    Not champion.

Didn't know monobloc mixers did that.

Had to isolate cold and just leave it off till I can get a 15mm to 1/2 inch connector tomorrow.

Got a nice shiny new tap, but no water coming out of it.

Reaction to the news of no water in the sink till tomorrow afternoon...."I told you to leave it till the bloody weekend".

Sounds a bit like me with water Snaggey, I cocked up big style 40+ years ago and I haven't been allowed anywhere near such repairs since, and she only reminds me a couple of times a year now<doh>

I cut the 15mm to 1/2" female off the copper pipe last night, so just need to fit a 15mm to 1/2" male and connect flexi to it.
Should only be a 5 minute job now.....:emoticon-0136-giggl

Funny how it's the female part causing the problem.....:emoticon-0127-lipss

This grapevine might go well in your garden if you have some sun. IMG_2095.jpeg

How are the grapes on that, any good? Looks like it's growing happily.

I haven't got space for anything like that really, it's a new build house and the gardens pretty small. Got a dog rose against one wall which I've trained in an espalier shape, an arbutus unedo (strawberry) tree in the corner, a border by the fence opposite to the rose and the rest is space for the kids and dog to go nuts in.

I've suspected it for a while but that post has convinced me ...

... you're using this forum to send secret information to yuri handler in Russia.

It's just a stream of random words that make no sense whatsoever.
