Does anyone know much about Targett? He's a name I know from the Premier League (ok, more from Fantasy Football if I'm honest) where he's had a couple of dozen matches (plus more in the cups) over 4 seasons, but I don't know anything really about what he's actually like. Wikipedia tells me that he's 6 foot tall and 22 years old. It seems like a decent signing, but I'm judging that purely on stats rather than any first hand knowledge. Can anyone provide a more informed opinion?

Like you Captain my knowledge is Fantasy based - had him in my team a year or so ago, until he got injured. However here's a 'Fulham' blog with a Saints fan which gives some good background -

Ros, who's next on your CB index? Dunk, Tarkowski & Flint have all turned out well (although arguably they were always out of our price range), so who else is on the list?

Surlyc
A player i do like and although a little old in the tooth at 29 is Andreas Bjelland of Brentford
at 6ft 2in a player very much in the Hangaland mould, who is capable of playing FB or CH
,but there again i would not mind us getting Emerson Hyndman back, or Griffiths of Celtic.
If we should gain promotion i fell there would then be much coming and going among
the playing staff.

My only reservation is the less-than-flattering nickname that would inevitably follow a player called B(j)ellend.

Sky are saying that an offer we've made to have Oliver Norwood's loan permanent has been turned down by Brighton. Rumour is that they're looking for £8m !

Regarding Flint,it appears that an offer of 6m has been rejected, surely we
could top that bid,and in my opinion he is a better prospect than Norwood

To days gossip on the Fulham blog is that we are back in the bidding for Chris Martin
The survey conducted amongst fans was 66% against a return, totally agree

It's a shame, as I think Coldplay was a good player and that he'd still fit our style well. However it's not worth the fan reaction and I think Fonte is just as good. We have to build on the Burton performance and pick teams (e.g. Piazon/Sessegnon) to bring the best out of what we have.

Norwood at £8m is just not worth the money. We have him for the season anyway and the only reason to consider a permanent move is if we need that loan slot for another player. However I just can't see Norwood being worth £8m - if we were to spend that on any of our loanees, I'd rather it was Piazon.

Rosc, if we could get Flint I would be very happy. However I think if he does move, it's to a Premier League team.

I will rock the boat by stating I would have Chris Martin back!! Proven at this level, knows how we play, and knows he will have to put in extra effort to win over the fans, plus just what we need!

How long would it take him to get up to match fitness though, Cookie?

Just over 5 days to go. no great movement yet,
how about 2 of the four listed
Powell --- Wigan
Maddison ---Norwich
Gayle ---Newcastle
Flint --- Bristol any of the 2 above would suit me

My eldest tells me Sky Sports are reporting that Cairney has said he wants to go, with West Ham looking like his favoured club.

And in the papers Moyes is quoted as complaining about having inherited players who "can't play two games in a week". Adding, "we need to bring in players who can play the 38 league games and quite a few in the Cup as well." Also West Ham have just signed an attacking midfielder from Milan on loan, Joao Mario.

And no one has ever used that line to cover transfer-related absences ever in the world ever. To be fair, it's also believable that Cairney is injured - he's not been properly fit all season. Either explanation is entirely plausible.

Surely the Club wouldn't lie to the fans ! A sweaty four days before we know, I guess.

I remember Cairney saying recently that he had signed a new contract extension. I don't know what more I can do to demonstrate commitment. I'm hanging on that and hoping this talk is all rubbish. To captain the Club to promotion and play in the PL with Fulham must surely be the ultimate.
