Mweh, he played very well in some games disappeared in others (like all the players) and that's before he decided to down tools completely...Being the best in that shower last year wouldn't have been hard.

Yes the best potential as a young player in world football but we'll not see it develop now. His ego has been one step ahead of his actual level since day one...his attitude on and off the field sucks and he might be flavour of the month for a year at city but then their new toy will come in and he'll get stroppy and saying he should be playing for Barca or start smacking up or something.....

I'd laugh at anything over 40m personally and the only reason we'll stick to our guns is because City are a rival and Sterling is a twat.....

Maybe 3rd? I believe only City and Real Madrid scored more goals p/ game than LFC? But either way, we had a world class attack that season - maybe jealously distorts the truth also?

Yes your team scored a lot of goals, the whole dynamic of the team was geared to scoring and the lads up front did all that was required. Had you asked any of the top teams in the world to swap attackers with you most would have taken Suarez in exchange for one of theirs, We came 7th that year and to be honest Suarez is the only one who I would have thought could improve us.

Maybe that's why you're not a manager.

Suarez, Sturridge and last seasons sterling would walk into all prem teams barring city last year

Nah, Suarez would have replaced Torres and Sanogo but the other two would not have replaced any that were left. All a matter of opinion though <ok>

Youd rather have giroud and oxlase chamberlain than 13/14 sterling and Sturridge?

Walcott, Sanchez, giroud, oxocube, ozil, Cazorla - that's the type of player we have in our forward positions. I'd only have Suarez from the three to play for us. Maybe Sturridge as a back-up to Giroud but he's too injury prone to consider a first choice option. Sterling and Sturridge certainly wouldn't walk into the Arsenal team.

I suppose the season before last when you still had Suarez we didn't have Sanchez, so one if sterling or Sturridge would of found it easier to get a squad place but I wouldn't bet on them being auto first 11 that season either. I don't think there is much between sterling and oxocube, Walcott is better than either and having one of Cazorla or ozil out wide was common place that season.

As for replacing Sanogo, he's a youth who was getting his first opportunities to show what he's got before being shipped out on loan. Most premiership players would hope to get into the team ahead of him!

according tho the echo

Here's the latest from our man James Pearce, who says that the wantaway Liverpool winger could face disciplinary action from the club as he looks to force through a move to Manchester City.

The England international failed to report to Melwood on Wednesday after phoning in sick – just hours after it emerged he had requested to be left out of the Reds’ squad for the tour of the Far East and Australia.

If club medical staff establish that Sterling was in fact fit to train then he’s likely to be fined. Sterling has also been informed that as it stands he’s expected to fly with the Reds to Bangkok on Sunday.

Berahino shows Sterling the way
Interesting line emerging late last night, that Saido Berahino has parted company with agent Aidy Ward - the man involved in the Raheem Sterling row.

The West Brom striker was, along with Sterling, Ward's prime client, but the Daily Mail are reporting that Berahino has become "disillusioned" after watching Ward's attempts to engineer Sterling's exit from Anfield.

Ward is quoted as saying: "I’m no longer working with Saido. You’ll have to ask him for the reasons. With Raheem, there has been a breakdown in trust between him and Brendan Rodgers."

Interesting, to say the least. It shows that the disdain for Ward and Sterling's tactics is not limited to those inside Melwood.

And I wonder how long it will be before two and two is put together, and Saido Berahino's name is linked with Liverpool again?

seems the agent has ruined his own rep. I would like to know if ox chamberalin signed with him or not

Bernahino prob got zero offers and thinks its cos of sterling.

I brought this up before, along way back, that this whole thing wasn't just going to tarnish Sterling but Ward as well. He was already known as a difficult agent to begin with, getting his players to agitate and threaten moves to get better deals, now the whole Sterling saga and Sterling still hasn't made an offical transfer request.

Clubs aren't going to want to make offers for Wards clients as it will mean dealing with him and at some point they'll have the player threatening to leave in a very public way.

Berahino was probably promised a move this summer by Ward, doesn't look like anyone has made any bids or is that interested, and from Berahino's point of view it probably doesn't look like Ward is trying very hard for him, all the effort is going into Sterling.
