Any refs or budding refs out there? Was listening to the Liverpool vs Oldham match in the car tonight & the pundit Pat Nevin made a comment about L'pool's second goal - a penalty. Can't remember the players involved, but player 1 crossed the ball into the penalty area where player 2, who was in an offside position, went for the ball but was fouled by a defender. Ref awarded a penalty - but why would he not blow for offside?
BB because it is easier to give Liverpool a penalty than penalise them on their own pitch. Anyway it is a big scalp for us to take a shot at in the next round.
