Roger is a local mush. Here's one for all the oldies on this forum.
Anyone play footy in the old Sunday morning Commercial Houses League between 1985-1987? If so you probably played against Roger East and therefore me.
Sorry I'm a bit bored tonight, although it is sort of on topic.
Roger is a local mush.
Carrot cruncher actually
Just seen it and 100% correct. Long dived.Tom, what did you make of Longs yellow?

If it was a dive I would award 5 out of 10 for effort, it looked to me that he had lost his footing and had prodded the ball too far, before the defender clattered in to him completing the job, no penalty but not a yellow either in my opinion.
Not for me, he played the ball purposely with no intent of getting it and then fell into the defenders leg.
What about Watfords pen. There's contact, then there's a reaction. The difference seems to be when you go down, Shane needed to wait as the player was certainly coming....sliding full on towards him out of control.
It is a common known fact that Shane Long doesn't get any decisions, so really if he was diving it would have been futile anyhow.
He doesn't get any decisions because he's known as a diver. Not saying that's right but referees are human and that will always be in their mind. The boy who cried wolf and all that...

I can't remember it clearly but didn't the Watford player still have a chance to play the ball? Rather than kick it out of play and wait for the challenge.
Also I still think with Longs, there wasn't a 'reaction to contact', he was already on his way down.
