I’m quite happy with that being one that VAR doesn’t overturn regardless of which way the ref gave it on field. Very subjective decision, doesn’t need re-refereeing
So we were two minutes away from being the only side in the entire bottom half to win. It was almost a great set of results for us. Almost. Everton v Palace next weekend. Everyone else towards the bottom have pretty nasty fixtures.
With this season’s new rule, about ball boys not being allowed to give the ball to a player, how long before VAR disallows a goal because the ball HAS been returned by a ball boy? I have seen occasions when the ball boys have done this, instead of the player lifting the ball from a cone or retrieving the loose ball for himself, so it opens the door for a goal to be challenged by the team that concedes. Seriously though, would this happen?
Seen some highlights from other games. How does the Spurs GK get away with deliberate handball outside the box when VAR exists? And how does Martinez not get a straight red for his two footed stamp? Don’t know how you see that and give a yellow. The ref in our game was shocking too, completely ruined any chance of it being a good game.
The commentator said yesterday he was a brilliant ref and had a great game.(don’t know what match he was watching) But I also thought he was comical, and even bottled it not to send off Hutchinson. Definitely not premier league standard referee.
I wonder if MGW might be getting more than just a one game ban, given how he reacted to that red card?
