They don't have the funds. Qatar is holding the money. Funds can only be spent abroad on humanitarian aid. Col made it sound like Biden gave $6bn to the Iranians, that's just what the MAGA crowd are making up.

I doubt Iran spends much on humanitarian aid for Iranians, it won't make a difference.

The Hamas leadership live in the Four Seasons hotel here in Doha. Well removed from any harm. Yes Qatar holds the money but is channelling significant funds openly to the Palestinian Cause

Then again the Taliban have an embassy here so anything goes in this neck of the woods

"Humanitarian Aid" is defined as food, medicine, medical devices, and agricultural products.

Of course Iran spends money on those now. So the $6bn will go to those, and leave billions for Iran to spend on sponsoring terror. According to Nikki Haley, money is being moved around Iran already.

However, I don't trust Iran to do the right thing or, indeed, to do what they say they'll do.
Assets were unfrozen in return for hostages.
You don't have any idea what other deals have happened in the background.

All you've done is quote the idiots that paid the $6bn

Reuters also says the money can be used to purchase food, medicine, medical devices, and agricultural products. It's incredibly easy for Iran to use the $6bn monies for that wide range of goods, and save the money for terrorism. And do you think in Iran, we are dealing with an honest, up front country? They're led by criminal FFS.

They didn't 'pay'. They unfroze funds that belonged to Iran in the first place, restricted how it could be used and kept it out of their reach.

You're just parrotting the MAGA attack lines on Biden. Trump handing over nuclear secrets to whoever asked for them is far more idiotic.
