Ministers who resign are entitled to 25% of their annual salary as ‘severance pay’. Also if they are sacked.
Why? As far as I know if anyone else in any other job resigns that’s it, their decision. You are sacked on basis of **** performance or disciplinary issues, you don’t get paid for being ****. If you are made redundant, fair enough, but resigning or being sacked? No, **** off.
Michelle Donelan, who was Education Secretary for two days, is supposedly getting over £16k, which she plans to ‘donate to a local charity’. **** off, donating taxpayers money that you haven’t earned.
