35/65 v 48/52
I wonder what the equivalent would be for UK if it was Tim Farron v Nigel Farage (i.e. both main party's excluded from the run off)
I doubt 11M people would then be bothered to vote

An interesting thought. Though from what I've seen, Farage is mild compared to Marine. There are big problems in France and I don't think Macron's the answer
the other big difference is Le Pen probably means it, whereas Farage is just the proxy front man for vested wealthy people with an agenda of their own. Those who think Farage is a man of the people and fighting for them are going to be disappointed... "Good old Nige" is just an act.
But a low turnout and a record number of spoiled or blank votes showed disillusionment among many, particularly on the far left, at the choice they were given.
they sound more divided than the uk

I see 14 of the 15 expenses cases have been dropped, 'insufficient evidence'. In other words 'we know you're at it but we can't prove it'. Don't you just love politicians...
“However, it is clear agents were told by Conservative Party headquarters that the costs were part of the national campaign and it would not be possible to prove any agent acted knowingly or dishonestly. Therefore we have concluded it is not in the public interest to charge anyone referred to us with this offence.”
So the MPs and their agents cannot be charged because Tory HQ told them it was OK.
All a silly mistake.
