The year is 2192. The British Prime Minister visits Brussels to ask for an extension of the Brexit deadline. No one remembers where this tradition originated, but every year it attracts many tourists from all over the world.
Sadly Femi is a muppet.Pinched from Femi Oluwole on Twitter but he makes a good point.
"I won't lie. If the 52% want incompatible Brexits and cannot agree, then it's literally impossible to please them all so the will of the 48% should carry by default and we should stop Brexit. But our national psyche has been conditioned not to understand that so: [HASHTAG]#PeoplesVote[/HASHTAG]"

No doubt there are hot spots at the moment but that’s not the complete countryI haven’t been seeing any police brutality reported on UK media, just stuff from the Spanish ‘social media’ that shows the acts of a Spanish police force that are happy to beat, run over and abuse its own people without any fear of retaliation it seems. And if Catalan politicians are NOT being jailed (or rightly jailed) then please forgive me, I obviously got that one wrong. You might have more information than me.

Using African children as a backdrop to complain about your over-privileged life is offensive.
Invoking your own mother’s tragic death to demand the press stop calling out your hypocritical wife is downright disgusting.
Meghan Markle is a witch.
Harry is under her spell.

Good. We’ll need plenty more.
She doesn’t sound mental at all.
What for? Do you have any interest in the natural environment at all?
Right. She's just calculating. They both are. They have legal actions afoot, and need to try to show how devastated their lives are because journalists have the temerity to comment on their pampered, prima donna lifestyles
We have an ageing indigenous population. Are we pretending now that people are anti-immigration for environmental reasons?
I meant Candace Owens (?) is the mental one.
The morning news is all about Harry's mental health problems
We have the Labour Party telling us that with increasingly automated industries, we only need to work 4 days a week. More Brits should be employed by the NHS.
Immigration is hugely the biggest reason why we'll reach 70 million by 2030. Cut it down now to what we really need and save the diminishing British countryside and wildlife
My biggest problem, Goldie, is with the burgeoning Welfare State. It seems that the greater the population grows, the more taxes are needed to fund welfare. This is where the Lefties on here will view me as nasty and unfeeling, but I bitterly resent the socialist ethos of taking money away from those that have studied hard, worked hard and been sensible in order to give it to those that haven’t.
Of course, there are many in less fortunate circumstances than others and we should through a Welfare State do whatever is necessary to support them and get them back on their feet. Only this Welfare State seems most inclined to support and less inclined to encourage people to leave this dependency.
There’s a whole social minefield of substandard education, drugs abuse, disability or not really disabled, willingness to relocate or not, benefits abuse, immigrants taking poorly paid or antisocial jobs (good for them, I say) because our own people receive more on benefits and see certain jobs as beneath them, the decline of marriage and the concept of a male role model, the decline of the traditional family, perpetrators of crimes being treated as victims themselves, obesity. Lots of other stuff.
As soon as a government tried to look at the Welfare State the opposition cries foul, the Beeb trots out embittered victim after embittered victim of benefits cuts, each seeing their payments as an entitlement as if earned, people take to the streets.
Those funding the Welfare State out of taxes - each effectively working Monday & Tuesday of each week to fund someone else’s Monday to Friday - are apparently the lucky ones. They’re also despised by the recipients of their taxes because socialism has made them out to be the privilege classes, oppressing the poor working class man. None of this is true.
Yes, all sweeping generalisations above. Always many examples of where the Welfare State is necessary and does good things. I’m sure these examples greatly outweigh the bad ones.
Others on here will doubtless attack me for what they think I’ve said and what they think I think, but I wish for a bottom up review of every aspect of U.K. society. I wish for U.K. PLC to have a proper strategy document and long term business plan aimed at making this country a better, safer, more equitable place for everybody. We should reward those that do well and reward them again for using that wealth to create jobs and better living standards for others. We should help those trying to help themselves, not just pay people to be obsolete most of their adult lives.
The whole thing is a huge mess and I’m very bitter about it. Commentators have seen much of this coming for decades, but social liberalism (across all mainstream parties) has sat back and let this happen or, worse still engineered this state of affairs out of ignorance, false bonhomie and hatred of the perceived ‘haves’.

If Corbyn gets in it will get a whole lot worse. Universal benefit paid to everyone will create a real couch potato society whilst those who have the temerity to have a career and actually work will be taxed till the pips squeak to support their feckless socialist utopia. Malbec on prescription?...
