I wanted to leave the EU many years before Brexit was even talked about and Farage was probably not even a member of the EU parliment.

Fair enough mate.

Most people now believe it was a disaster, as do I, and think we'll rejoin in some way ...

... Trump has simply proved how wrong it was to rely on the USA as our major trading partner.

I still can't believe people decided it was a great idea but, c'est la vie.

No i know none of actual reform policies same as every other party, they are all just a bunch of liars with nothing worth the paper it's written on.
So, to make this absolutely clear..... You are on a forum slagging off other parties and advocating Reform when you have absolutely no idea what their policies are, and admit they are a bunch of liars and are no different from any other party. WOW. That is so difficult to understand. Is it just like the X Factor or Big Brother where you just pick a personality you like and go for them?

My confession is that i voted Brexit.
My reason was simple... subsidiarity... ie decisions should not always be taken by the highest level of government, but at the lowest when possible. The EU imho was deciding too many issues that affected the UK adversely, which our own parliament should have the final say. Locally I am in favour of regional mayors deciding regional issues and local councils deciding local matter. Brussels for me was unnecessary and not always helpful. Taxation should not all be in the treasury balliwick, but devolved.

However I wanted to continue strong trade links. I reckon Thersa May's would have achieved this, but Bonko Johnson and his chums scuppered that, they wanted a "hard Brexit". If Starmer and Labour had supported May instead of pushing for a 2nd referendum, the outcomes would have been very different.

That makes a lot of sense mate.

I have to say that when you say the EU was deciding too many issues I see that as a benefit ...

... I believed they prevented people like Boris and Truss making too many ludicrous and arbitrary decisions.

Rebecca Long-Bailey is the Labour MP for Salford in Greater Manchester, and came second to Keir Starmer in the contest to lead the party in 2020.

Speaking to Nick Robinson and Rachel Burden on the BBC Radio Election 26 Special, she says: "It's a really soul-destroying night.

"We've lost a large number of really good Labour councillors and candidates and it's quite clear that we've been squeezed both from Reform and the Greens.

"We were feeling that on the doorstep in Salford - that despite them loving our local councillor and thinking they were doing a fantastic job, a lot of residents just felt that they just couldn't vote for the Labour Party this time because of what we've been doing nationally on a whole range of things."

If Starmer wasn’t so power hungry, he would resign this morning. Labour are doing terrible under his leadership and can’t win another election with him in charge. Everyone seems to know this, but him.

Even in the traditional two horse race areas, Labour are losing seats to the Tories.

Wonder which way the Labour Party will go now, will they be blinkered and blame starmer for everything and move more to the left when looking at the votes the majority want want him to go more right,

So a lad i know, Indian name, mixed race (white british/indian), has been told online, yesterday, on a post about not voting for division, ‘when Reform get in there’ll be no division because you’ll all be rounded up and deported’.
He asked us on a group ‘how many people think like this, starting to worry about our safety’. I know there are a few angles to racism now.
Thats why i’m on here. It’s not a game for some.
We will smash the Labour councils in every seat.
