Berardi made just 1 mistake, which thanks to Coops wasn't terminal. I think he put in a remarkably composed performance. The one thing I worried about was his height, but I have to say that I've been really surprised at the leap he's got in him. People forget that Pele was a little guy, but few outjumped him. I recall reading an article in the Shoot as a boy which stated that Pele's leap had been measured as 3 feet! I've watched 6'6" CBs that can barely get off the ground, ffs! :) Not saying that Berra has the leap of Pele, btw, but he is quite impressive at heading, I have to say. The aggression helps too. Can't see Pontus taking his place for a bit, though - if at all!

Got to disagree with you too about Alioski. He never stood still during the match. Even when the ball was in our half, he was running around all over the place pulling their defence apart - and doing it wonderfully. He linked up really well with Douglas & Saiz, & some of the (obviously practised) moves they did together were breathtaking.

Was going to answer your puzzler, but got stuck at the first two. What a choice to make!
The Berardi error, guess there will be a few like that when they are being installed with the belief pass it out from the back, we’re going to have to expect one here and there, very few long balls but Bielsa still commented he thought there were too many.

Morning wakey. It seems unfair to me to criticise anyone in the team after the Stoke performance. The team has made a good start but is in the development stage.
Must agree I've got absolutely no time for alioski but can't criticise him for the way he played against Stoke. Like Davy said though think he will fall by the wayside soon to be replaced by Harrison or roberts

Yeh the way we’re playing is high risk... a fair bit of one touch stuff playing out from the back, we will get errors from the back 3/4, holding midfielders and the keeper doing this. Important for fans to recognise it’s the cost of the way of playing and not get on the back of the guy who’s messed up.

If it becomes the same guy week in week out, well then something needs to be done about it.

Agree. If we got performances like last week 50% of the time this season, a few scrambling wins and draws thrown in, that should satisfy the fans and we wouldnt be far off. I seem to remember even Wolves last season, who ran away with promotion being stuffed 4 or 5-1 by Villa. Ive a feeling, under Bielsa, well be better equipped to bounce back after a defeat. Previous seasons, when we lost one, we seemed to go on a losing streak of three or four, probably partly due to the fact our coaches were no good and didnt know how to turn it around

I actually share your concerns, believe it or not, but it's the Bielsa effect that's driving me on so positively. It's never happened to me before. For the first time in my life I have absolute confidence in the manager. Absolute. I cannot see me ever criticising him for his selections, tactical changes, subs etc. He has a well thought out reason for everything he does, and we plebs will probably never fully understand why. We might think we do, and our thoughts might fit with whatever happens, but I'm guessing his thought processes will be a million times more complex than ours.

For someone who had never heard of him before, I find myself quite starstruck by him. I think if I met him I'd be a tongue-tied eight year old again.
Good morning all
Phew thank god i'm not the only one,for a minute i thaught i was having a gay moment. <yikes>

I'd agree with Davy, if fit and ready, I'd swap Berardi for Pontus regardless of how he played last week.

Every one of our players is going to make mistakes and we have to accept that. Yes they may be playing like Man City but they arent Man City players they are a rag tag bunch of unknowns from all over Europe and think what they are achieving is belief in themselves and should be applauded. We know some will make more mistakes than others especially in defence where an error usually costs, but we need to just nod and say ok mate no worries
