After a little research, I've finally sussed it out! OLOF plays guitar, has been known to stray into a tranny bar, & has a very unique name. I think I've tracked him down!

Scrubs up not too bad, gets a tune out of the geetor, but needs to work a bit on the voice I think!

(Plane ticket booked & false passport purchased!).

 

May be different tomorrow, but the only weak links I could identify last Sunday were Berardi & Alioski, and Alioski played better that he often does.

Too lightweight for me which means he drifts in & out and gets bullied by big defenders, at least last week he tried to stay on his feet. Maybe he's learning at last that lying on your ass appealing for fouls wins you little sympathy in the Championship.

Sometimes he shows he's right up for it like last week - in fairness - but he gets knocked off the ball too easily on occasions. Think of it this way, what order do you put these in, in terms of combative spirit?

Likely story.

We gotta be careful now bud, last time I had a conversation with anybody on a Friday night the s888 hit the fan.

 

Berardi made just 1 mistake, which thanks to Coops wasn't terminal. I think he put in a remarkably composed performance. The one thing I worried about was his height, but I have to say that I've been really surprised at the leap he's got in him. People forget that Pele was a little guy, but few outjumped him. I recall reading an article in the Shoot as a boy which stated that Pele's leap had been measured as 3 feet! I've watched 6'6" CBs that can barely get off the ground, ffs! Not saying that Berra has the leap of Pele, btw, but he is quite impressive at heading, I have to say. The aggression helps too. Can't see Pontus taking his place for a bit, though - if at all!

Got to disagree with you too about Alioski. He never stood still during the match. Even when the ball was in our half, he was running around all over the place pulling their defence apart - and doing it wonderfully. He linked up really well with Douglas & Saiz, & some of the (obviously practised) moves they did together were breathtaking.

Was going to answer your puzzler, but got stuck at the first two. What a choice to make!

 

Fair response Jock, just putting it out there that if we were weak anywhere those two looked most suspect for me.

I love Berardi's commitment and aggression, real Leeds hero material - just not sure if he's as level-headed and consistent and as skillful on the ball as we might require.

Alioski looked good last week, but I'm not sure he can compete physically this year any more than he did last. Couldn't fault his work rate or energy last week, but sometimes he expends the same energy to much lesser effect? Hope he proves me wrong, I actually quite like the guy.

I actually share your concerns, believe it or not, but it's the Bielsa effect that's driving me on so positively. It's never happened to me before. For the first time in my life I have absolute confidence in the manager. Absolute. I cannot see me ever criticising him for his selections, tactical changes, subs etc. He has a well thought out reason for everything he does, and we plebs will probably never fully understand why. We might think we do, and our thoughts might fit with whatever happens, but I'm guessing his thought processes will be a million times more complex than ours.

For someone who had never heard of him before, I find myself quite starstruck by him. I think if I met him I'd be a tongue-tied eight year old again.
