1964 I expect at least one or two more loanees to come in as posted earlier, but this may also be a good pointer?
Had a great time thanks...weather was great, wall to wall sunshine everyday with temperatures mid to high 30th. Bit of a shock to the system when they opened the aircraft doors at Leeds/Bradford.
This is actually very good but when you look at reality there are 10 of those names who shouldnt be there as first teamers, although a couple of the kids will make up the numbers. So I make this 22
The 10 names I would exclude from the above list are: LDB Nessy Diaz Strujk Rey Shackelton Nicell Huffer Stevens Dalby
If he gets us playing like we did against Stoke regularly, he's the bargain of the season even if we don't go up. At least we'll have something to believe in and take a bit of pride in for once. I'd love to get promoted, but I think we often under-rate the Championship experience in it's own right, and may feel a lot less connected to the club as they evolve into something different if we are successful. Just my take though, I may be proved completely wrong.
But we have to go up. A Lot of our quality players are loanees who will only be here for the one season. I don’t accept a top six finish as a success either. Guarantees nothing
Blimey if this is your reaction when the team played well and beat the favourites for promotion it's a good job we didn't get beat.
No guarantees in this league Eire. We may or may not go up, but if we play like we can throughout it should be brilliant. For years we've had wage takers, putting in little effort and satisfied with their mediocrity - Bielsa won't accept that, win, lose or draw. The players will have to buy in and follow through or feck off. About time too.
In a very recent interview, Cooper was singled out as being excellent by Bielsa. He also said he was a great captain, well respected by the team. Oddly enough, like TC, he doesn't believe in appointing a captain, he leaves it for the team to decide. In the same interview, he was not particularly enthusiastic about Pontus, I might add. He 'thinks' he can do a job as RCB! Just as well Bielsa didn't play BPF, Cooper, or Alioski on Saturday, eh? Oh, hang on .....
Huffer will be 3rd choice 'keeper. Shackleton & Nessi are 2 of the 4 u23s that Bielsa has named. Think the other 2 are Pearce & Clarke.
This is correct because you only have to look at the failures that are now in meltdown because top 6 play off didnt end in promotion. QPR, Wendies, Derby & Villa to name but 4.to reach the top 6 the usual method is by heavy investment and when it goes Pete Tong its a waste of money and a gamble too far. Derby are bluffing it t this season under Lamps but if they cant sell those high earners they will go bust
Funny that, but an old eccentric guy at ER called Bielsa thinks they're good enough, and his opinion carries a lot more weight with me than yours does. You're entitled to your own opinion, but if you're trying to fill Glory's shoes, you've got to have a grain of truth or even, God forbid, realism in your post.
