The season is now written off. With the impending points deduction we will definetly be closer to relegation than th play-offs. No manager in their right minds would take on the job with the current mess we are in. I say give andy king the job until the summer (announce it quickly). ship the deadwood then and start afresh, and we as fans must start to realise we are back to being a mid-upper table championship side until the stars align again in our favour.
You're absolutely right. Take away the uncertainty that comes with the title 'interim' manager. I hope Andy King has the respect he deserves from that dressing room because he is worth twice what any of the current contingent are - Ricardo excepted.

The potential deduction of points part way through the season can be so destructive to any club. On the one hand you might be holding fire needlessly on bringing in players and it doesn't happen, and on the other you could be saddling your club with debt that is unsustainable if you do buy players and it does happen.

I see the Leicester Mercury website are charging to view some of their articles now. What the hell is that all about? Are they donating the proceeds to the club to help ease the financial situation? I won’t be paying, stuff that.

You can read it all on Foxestalk before the Mercury has a whiff of anything - if you can be bothered with reading all of the moaning and bad puns.

There is a way around the paywall - Insert the whole of the link from the blocked page - the header at the top of the screen into the following link
drop it into the section that says i want to search the archive for saved snapshots - the blocked page should appear as a thumbnail and you just click on it and voila - you are through the paywall - it works for loads of sites with simple paywalls

Wake up to a six point deduction and not yet in the relegation places. Dont know whether to be happy or not.
It's difficult to have an opinion when there is so much that we don't know. To be honest, I thought it might be a double figure deduction. Do they keep searching and have the power to inflict further deductions if they find any other 'anomalies'?

Whatever, it's now down to the players to stand up and be counted. Depending on the mindset it could be the kick up the arse that some of them need. Hopefully the new additions can get involved and make a difference. The alternative is too dire to contemplate.

With you - think we should 'shake our heads in disbelief' publicly ... whilst grinning in private - expected much worse - now the uncertainty is gone - and we have fresh blood to energise the squad - crack on ...

Ricardo, great servant though he's been, has also been a bit of a liability in defence all season - need to either move him into Central midfield or bench - a second game in a row with 10 players? - idiots? or poor coaching? ...

Another week I'm grateful to be on holiday and can avoid the misery.

Wholeheartedly agree with the points deduction analysis Fosse. I'd originally expected a lot worse.

Unfortunately I have to agree about Ricardo. He's stayed with us through thick and thin, but is now getting caught out too often in his defensive role.

As for the sendings-off it is probably down to bad decision making, panic or fear. I'm sure that most of the players don't want to be accused of not trying and they end up over-compensating. But we need to keep 11 players on the pitch for 90 minutes.

Need to build solidity from the back...
Stolarcyk's confidence is shot for now ... so Begovic needs keeping in ...

Wondering how long it will be before Harry Souttar is available - we'll then have 5 decent centre backs (at this level) - would also have Kristiansen at left back, more robust than Luke Thomas - which means we should properly blood Bade Oluko at right back ... can't help thinking we were a bit premature in sending Woyo Couliballly out on loan ... something doesn't seem right there to me... bloke barely got a sniff...

A shambolic level, even for us.

At half time my football group WhatsApp had a message added "probably lose 4-3 in the second half".... and, so it came to pass.

The league position via points deduction is masking how terrible we really are.

Loved Kingy as a player, but he needs to look in the mirror at those substitutions- also a bit of a personal bug bear of mine, the best way to defend a lead IMHO, particularly when the opposition have picked up a bit, is to make them defend, not invite them to come on ... classic example was how Rodgers (in my opinion) threw away a Champoons League spot via that game at Bournemouth - 1-0 up at half time having completely dominated when he substituted Iheanacho (who had caused them all sorts of problems) in an attempt to see out the 1-0 ... completely changed the game - and when Schmeichel inexplicably blasted a simple clearance against the back of Ndidi's head and it rebounding to one of theirs with an empty net tap in, we were ****ed ... eventually losing 4-1 with a furiously frustrated Soyuncu getting himself red carded and suspended ... bye bye top 4 ... calamitous ....

What did I witness last night?!

We were saying at half time, if Southampton score the next goal, we will back off and back off and back off.

The stunned silence outside the ground afterwards was deafening!

Where do we go from here?

Forget the cup on Saturday. Play the kids, get knocked out and concentrate on getting 4th from bottom. The last thing we need is more games, we just aren't fit enough!

Blackburn away on the last day of the season could be interesting (if we aren't already down)
