Thanks ... and good luck in your semi-final against Chelsea; sure most of us would want James Justin to have a chance of a second FA Cup final medal ...

Gotta take the rough with the smooth in footie - the highs and the lows - many of us won't mind another season in League One if it means we get rid of the highly paid piss takers... and of course, the last decade has been a blast ... Premier League title, FA Cup winners, Q/F of the Champions League, Semi-finals of the Europa Conference... some clubs highlight will have been just to get to a FA Cup semi final in all that time ... ;)

Do keep in touch ...
We know all about past glories mucka, I'm not sure the Europa conference would be classed as a highlight really it's just another third rate comp in all honesty, but the others you've mentioned are achievements and fair play ...the spend another season in league 1 comment is rather premature or maybe you made the same one last season... anyway thanks for Justin he's been a bargain

No worries mate - and as for JJ I was always a fan - some of ours turned on him last season - yes he made some individual mistakes but that happens and, from personal experience, I know how long it really takes to fully come from an ACL injury - and the kid also had a ruptured achilles on top of it, ffs. He's now starting to show the sort of form that deservedly won him an England cap - and I can hand on heart say that if we'd held on to him, we wouldn't be in the position we are now - opposing teams have targeted (very successfully) our lack of defensive robustness at full back.

Can't quite understand why Monga has sat on the bench for the last several matches without getting a kick. I can only think that a deal for him has already been done and we didn't want to get him injured.

If Citeh lose trophies they've won on the pitch because some spreadsheet jockeys take exception to their success being predominantly based on spending the most money; the single biggest factor that has influenced footballing success over the entire 200 year history of the games - then the game has truly gone.

... and will the vast majority of fans really think the redistribution of every trophy Citeh have won (to obviously inferior football teams) really 'count'? I know I wouldn't - in fact, I'd be quite embarrassed for my club to be awarded any such 'success'.

'Cheats' ? - there are no performance enhancing drugs or bent officialdom involved here - simply better football teams facing being stripped of trophies in a poorly disguied scheme aimed at limiting genuine competitiveness in the game by inhibiting the emergence of 'new kids' that might disrupt a long established cartel of richest (biggest) clubs.
Thanks for vindicating everything I said.
Enjoy league 1.

Academic but relegated via the points deduction in the end ... but that just masks the deep rooted problems with the club in its current guise...

Time for a complete rebuild and refresh ... including parting ways with the genius that thought the signings of Ayew, de Cordova-Reid and Oliver Skipp was money well spent towards a successful Premiership campaign ...

Time for youth and a manager with much better ideas than the gum chewing buffoon that made us palpably worse than we had been under Marti Cifuentes...

We do seem to have a very narrow-minded approach to recruiting managers and players. While teams like Southampton and Norwich in the Championship and Bournemouth and Brighton in the Prem have looked further afield for game changing managers we have been picking up the ones off the same old merry-go-round of serial failures. Player recruitment has followed the same narrow path. Where are the ones that the scouting team under Nigel Pearson so often picked out?

We will only get out of that third tier if we get the right manager to build a balanced team made up of a blend of long term promising younger players and a backbone of shorter term older heads.

Glad that the season as ended! Don't think the points deduction was to blame, we were woeful all season and only ourselves to blame, the only good thing about it imo is, I will never have to see Daka try to be a striker again in a Leicester shirt!
I remember when Daka came either his previous manager, or his national manager claimed we were a stepping stone for him going on to an elite team. I’d be surprised if Walsall went in for him. £20m in the fire, along with the £30m for Perez, the £22m for Adrian Silva, the £12.5m for Ward, the £18m for Praet, the £17m on Soumare ……………

... bit hard on Perez ... got a hat-trick in a still standing record Premier League away win ... and his pass interception in the FA Cup final fell to Youri Tielemans ... in value for money terms, those justified his cost ... others fair enough <laugh>

Tielemans winning a Euro trophy is just another stab in the heart. Love him as a player and what he did for us until that season. Even Schmeichel and Kelechi winning in Scotland hurts.

Contrast the team that went down with Vardy, Barnes, Tielemans, Maddison, Ndidi, Justin and Castagne with the lot we have had in the last couple of years ... light years apart ... that lot should never have got relegated that season...

Complacency was the main reason we were relegated. Rodgers cut his nose off to spite his face with his quarrel with Soyuncu. He was probably our best defender but Rodgers had some beef with him so wouldn’t pick him. He’d play Amartey, who I watched through my fingers, or Ndidi, who was one of the leagues best CDM players, playing out of position, which meant we didn’t have him operating in his best position. Add to that Tielemans had pretty much downed tools after scoring the winner in the cup final and was a shadow of the player he was in his first couple of season but Rodgers persisted in playing him. Top’s inexperience and naivety running a club meant he didn’t have the balls to sack Rodgers sooner than he did, if he’d got rid of him in October, like his dad would, a new manager would have had plenty of time to come in and get that group of players performing to an acceptable level. We were so close to being a top club, the squad was capable of beating anyone, yet mismanagement on just about every level blew it apart.

Perfect example of that trajectory and our sliding doors moment. We were due to play villa in September, we weren't great but they were torrid. The match was postponed as HMQE passed away, they sacked Gerrard and we limped along with Rogers. Since then, we've been relegated 3 times and they've won the Europa League and now playing CL football.
