No Bucks. It was a case of being very bad. Brendan is now questioning the fans support and saying we lack quality (players not fans). Until the 4th went in the fans support was very loud and clear. We've plenty of quality, unfortunately, it's being mismanaged. Last week he was blaming the players, the owners and the transfer window. The fans turn now. The problem is in the mirror Brendan. Unlike when we won the league, where the team was a greater sum than its parts. We're now the complete opposite. Brendan is embarrassing the club, us and himself now. Surely his position is untenable now?
I think he’ll get the Villa game at least. Today was the first time this season I’ve watched and the biggest problem seems to be GK and defence. They all look terrified to make a mistake which leads to stray passes which invites pressure. Why not give Soyuncu a go with evans? They formed a strong partnership before, Soyuncu struggled without Evans but now they’re both fit they seem the most likely solution. Rodgers is cutting his nose off to spite his face in my opinion not picking Soyuncu, and at the moment it looks like he’s running out of ideas. Fail to win against Villa and that will be that, but given our apparent precarious financial position, can we afford to pay off his £190k a week wage?
Sadly, no. They were worse than any could have believed. Something is seriously wrong in the club right now.
The issue comes back to money unfortunately. We can't afford players, so we certainly can't afford to pay out Brendan & his teams contracts...and Rodgers knows this. He has already said he won't walk
We still have the vast majority of the side that was reasonably successful over the last couple of seasons, yet we have no leaders on the pitch now. We need a dressing room spokesman who can talk with the manager and find out what the f*ck he's trying to do.
While confidence s low, Madison cannot play right wing - he left Justin exposed time and time again. Would have loved to hear the half time talk that Brendan gave, it must have been really inspirational. Pleased for Daka - he was the only one who seemed to have any pleasure in the game. We have some very good players who look as though they have never played the game before - down to the manager. Dont care how much it costs - he has to go.
I have to agree. Something is wrong at the club and the only way forward is a new manager, unfortunately. Who that will be is another question..
We can't afford to be relegated either. I don't disagree with you about the financial quandary we're in but relegation is far more costly longer term than paying Brendan off. No announcement today, so I'm assuming he's not getting the sack.
According to The Mail: Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, 49, is due an eight-figure compensation package if he is sacked following the club's worst start to a season since 1983. Gulp! Couldn't we just keep him on and swap roles with Filbert Fox (or whatever he's called now). Results couldn't be any worse.
Despite our current woes, I'm sure we can all come together to commiserate with Wesley Fofana on the unfortunate outcome of his Champions League debut ... I 'sincerely' hope this is not an indication that he will not get past the group stage and finds himself playing in the Europa League later this season
Hope Brenda has the balls to play Iversen against Villa ... Danny Ward has been woeful, irrespective of the weaknesses in the defence in front of him ..
Would playing 3 at the back help us with our shortcomings on the right hand side where we currently have no one to support JJ? It would allow him to go forward with more confidence without worrying so much as to who's covering him. Otherwise Albrighton is the only true option if we continue to play our current formation.
Dear Chelsea, I'd like to recommend the 'Young and fresh' Mr Rodgers for your vacancy.... His current teams predicament is purely down to their lack of quality, no support from the board and their pesky, poor supporters.... Brendan must be fuming that he was linked with a dream top 6 club job, stayed for more £££ here and now Chelsea aren't knocking his door down Obviously, he's not as disappointed as we are but still...
Suggestions that Brighton might move for him if Potter takes the Chelsea job, we’d be rid AND receive compensation!
Personally, I don't see Brighton offering him enough money. Villa on the other hand might, in the unlikely event we win on Saturday and they boot Gerrard. Annoyingly, you just know he'll go somewhere else and have 2 great initial seasons. Today's press conference could be interesting.
Rogers should put Soyuncu back again to first 11, sitting such a defender -just because he didn't sign a new contract- while team is clearly failing in defence is stupid.
Wouldn't mind seeing Cags and new boy Wout as the central pairing ... and possibly with Vestergaard in a 3 with Justin and Castagne as wing backs ...
Wesley Fofana was an unused sub in Chelsea's Champions League match tonight ... now about that needing to play CL to get into France's world cup squad ... hope he gets a run out at the weekend
