But for the umpteenth time, I have supported my claims by providing your words. I noticed how you have dropped the economy question and are now claiming that we should all know that your dismissal of Hulls comments, around the Italian banks, wasn't meant as it was written.
As I appear to be the bigger man, I do hope that our last few hours posting doesn't spoil your evening with your lady. I guess I won't be getting the same pleasantry's back?

Have a pleasant evening, I'm leaving right now.

Yes, we disagree. You misread what I said. Partly my fault, as I know from my years in the City that Italy always had some crisis going on. I should have made that more clear.

Waiting for the main course.

No, you have not supported your claims in any way. You can try to claim that, but it is groundless,

I have not dropped the economy question, as you claim. I've said consistently that the economy has slowed, and that it has been damaged by Brexit.

I have not dismissed Dull's claims entirely. Merely stated that, as I said earlier, the Italian banking system always seems to have some kind of crisis. Yet, it's still here.

And, you're the 'bigger man' possibly in terms of your belly, only! As your username alludes to.

I shamelessly stole the username "pieguts" from an old work colleague who is unfortunately no longer with us, it doesn't have any bearing on my size. Like a few, I could do with loosing a stone, buts that more vanity than necessity.

OK, I've never used UBER, so know nothing other than what I just started to read. My neighbour is a black cab driver and moans continually about un-regulated taxis in London. I do have some sympathy, when I remember the hours he put in getting the "knowledge"
This is what interests me

This is now becoming tedious. Other than the 30% who openly admitted they voted for Brexit on the immigration ticket, even you cannot somehow claim victory for the other 60%, even if they said that immigration and multiculturalism was a force for ill. I don't like milk, but that doesn't mean I want all the cows gone?
The stupidity of your stance here is epic.

The vote was won by circa 1.5 m votes, nearly 6 m of the leave vote had immigration as their prime reason for voting leave

6 > 1.5

As for your analogy that'd be repatriation <doh>

It's a survey result rather than a 'fact' and they don't seemed to ask anyone if they were xenophobic or Little Englanders.

You voted remain, and you're a very little Englander. :emoticon-0105-wink:
It's a survey backed by a Brexit supporting Tory peer, with a 3% error margin, you docile wooden top ;)

Uber is choking London's streets to death, paying it's drivers starvation wages, and undermining legitimate competitors.

Totally agree.

What started as a good idea has now become a ****ing nuisance. The ****s are everywhere!

Apparently, I'm told that Uber's meister plan was to put London cabbies out of business. Instead, many are returning to using black cabs as they'd rather be assured of getting to their destination safely.

I've only used Uber twice when in London. Both times I had to direct the guy to where I wanted to go.

How is my stance stupid?

You keep saying that it was the immigration voters who swung it. As it was a straight vote, leave required just 1 more vote than remain to win it. In the case of the UK that was 17+ million voters (not sure of the exact number) +1, which equates to just one more vote than half the population that was legible to vote.
Therefore it's 17 - 6 million which equals 11 million voters. I'm not quite sure why keep banging on about 6 being greater than 1.5 because it's totally irrelevant.
Moving on....the leave vote had, by admission, 6m people who voted to leave using immigration as there primary reason. A further 11 million supposedly voted for reasons other than immigration? As the leave vote campaigned for "taking back control of the country" and immigration was a large part of the message, I guess that the immigration voters could be considered the "givens" by the leave campaign (in the same way as those who voted remain based on the economy argument, as this was the remains primary campaign message).
The people who actually "swung" the vote are those who probably right up until the vote did not know which way to go. I was actually one of those voters and can assure you immigration was never going to be a reason to vote against. In the end I errored on the side of caution and the potential damage to the economy was my deciding factor.
Unfortunately, this doesn't fit with your simple, racist, bigoted, simpleton rhetoric, so can't be right, which has been your stance ever since the result was declared. Let's just continually blame the 6 million whilst ignoring the other 11 million leave voters.

I had to be careful with my analogy, as you have a track record of claiming "racist" if people have differing views than you. This is always the problem when trying to debate with people who are narrow minded and believe that they are intellectually superior.

A survey/poll, similar (but not the same before you burble) to those that have wrongly predicted the outcomes of elections and referendums over recent years, BUT more to the point, it did not ask about "little Englanders" or "xenophobes" so your use of the guesstimate is unsupported stumpy. You're just trying to spin it to claim your bigoted version as fact.

Given I'm disputing your "fact", it seems 'docile' is another word to add to the list of words some on here don't understand the meaning of.

For what it's worth, I see where you're coming from. Both campaigns were awful and Remain's managed to be worse enough to lose.

Thanks. I do understand what Tobes is saying, but he is "cherry picking" numbers to suit his argument. It doesn't matter how he tries to dress it up, 6 million wouldn't have got leave across the line, they needed the other 11 + million.

I've not honestly read much about the drivers' pay and the other stuff you mention. If they're breaking laws then they should be punished for it. As far as I know the drivers are self-employed so poor pay comes as a result of there not being enough work to go round but I guess the same could be true of black cabs or any self-employed person.

I just meant as a service it's always been good to me. Both here and in the US where just about anyone with a car can do a bit of driving on the side. I've never had a driver not know how to reach my destination.

Its worth having a bit of a dig around. There business model does appear to exploit a number of loopholes and makes for an interesting read.

One third (33%) said the main reason was that leaving “offered the best chance for the UK to regain control over immigration and its own borders.”

That's from Lord Ashcroft's poll. Ashcroft is Brexit supporting Tory peer.

As I am going to assume that a Brexit supporter, like Ashcroft, would not publish figures that he knew would be disputed, in assuming that that figure is well supported by the numbers and views taken in the poll.

So what is wrong with gaining control of your borders and on top of that it does no effect you as you live in Spain.
