£68 per person return from Manchester to Brussels at the moment.

Worth a consideration But will the game get switched to Brussels ? We need confirmation of the venue which for me puts a question mark over flying. Car is hassle free.

Do the ferries still have the rule not taking bookings for football fans?????

Yes. You have more chance of getting on the ferry with 2 couples in the car. Dont show any club colours either.

That's the most expensive way to get there, flights are much cheaper, as are doing down to get the channel ferry(which is a third of the price) and there's currently no ferry back on Friday.

Maybe for you. I get 2 discounted return trips a year on PO/NSF and i may stay an extra night in Belgium as our weekend game is not until sunday. Get the saturday night ferry back and arrive Hull sunday 24th in time for Stoke. Sorted if i do it this way.

Using the Eurotunnel you could probably drive it in seven hours, just like when we used to go to Plymouth. You could also double up as a booze and ***s run too.

A very good and valid point. Plus fill up with cheap fuel as well.

£95 for 4 in a car Dover to Calais. 2 hours drive Calais to Lokeren. Bargain.
I'm seeing £50 Dover to Calais, car and 4 passengers

I have no wish to drive down to Dover and back again. The fuel cost alone jacks up the price.

It's a ****ing shambles if they really don't allow football fans on the ferry. I wonder how many other minority groups they can get away with doing that to? Is it any less unfair than an airline banning all muslims on the grounds there might eventually be one who's a suicide bomber?

Regular half hour trains to Antwerp direct.

1-1.5 hrs to Brussels.

20mins to Gent leaving every 45 mins or so.

Last trains seem to be 11-11:30pm so should be plenty of options.

I have just worked out that I can do the whole trip for £200.00 each for two of us. Not including match tickets.

Plenty of hotels in Brussels and trains are cheaper than here.

Hi Tigers,

Great draw for you guys and us aswell. Nearby and relatively cheap to make the trip to Lokeren/Hull.

Our stadium has been renovated to fit the standards to play in this stage of the Europa League since the beginning of this season.
If you don't get a ticket you can always watch the game in a local bar in the city center (15 min walk from the stadium).

I would recommend staying in Ghent (20min drive), Antwerp (35min drive) or Lokeren.
Like already mentioned above: It's Belgium....everything is nearby.

Cheers

Hi mate, it's good for you guys that you have improved your stadium but pretty awful for us as it means we will probably only get about 600 tickets for the fixture when there will maybe be about 2000 people that would want to come over. A lot of fans will be disappointed :(

This is literally amazing, when we knew we were in Europe everyone was praying for a Dutch or Belgian side. *God really is a Hull City fan.

Btw, did anyone have a ****ing clue how that draw worked?

*of course there is no God, but if there was...

you can't say that for sure.

Anybody know what the train connections are like from the available airports (Brussels - including Ryan Air's drop off airport, Amsterdam etc.) through to their local station and back for a trip in one day?

Wrong.

Plenty of people are on it.

Also Ferry to/from Rotterdam is just as convenient for Lokeren.

What's all this MCR to Brussels **** or driving down to Calais?

Brussels South Charleroi Airport - Situated 46km from Brussels’ Grand-Place. Every hour, a shuttle bus links Brussels South Charleroi Airport to Gare du Midi railway station in Brussels (the shuttle leaves from the junction of Rue de France and Rue de l'Instruction, follow the "Thalys" exit at Gare du Midi). Tickets are sold either at www.voyages-lelan.be or in the terminal of Brussels South Charleroi Airport or on the bus leaving from Brussels. You can reach Brussels South Charleroi Airport easily from any Belgian railway station. Ask for the ticket "code 814 one way or code 815 return" at the ticket desk of your station. On arriving at Gare de Charleroi Sud (Charleroi South station), simply catch the direct bus (bus A), which takes you to the airport terminal in a few minutes. Similarly, when you arrive at the airport, you can buy a “bulk ticket” at the information desk. This covers your transfer by bus to Charleroi Sud railway station and the train journey to any Belgian destination. The bulk ticket can be bought only at the airport.

It wasn't wrong, P&O just took it off their booking site while they decided how much to bunce the prices.

Not everyone wants to spend a night on a boat travelling, some prefer more direct travel.
