I have, actually, but you thought they were the 4th biggest club in Portugal so you were obviously confusing them with someone else.
A dying breed sadly. It works better if the club is successful Players like Giggs, Terry, Gerrard, all stayed at their parent clubs because they were winning trophies........
The only examples I can think of, of "good" players who stayed at their parent clubs whilst winning **** all are Shearer and Le Tissier. The others likely stayed cos they were ****e. EDIT: I know Newcastle werent technically Shearers parent club, but he is a Geordie and he supported them as a boy
Pretty sure if levy didnt offer kane 200k a week he would have told scrooge to shove it. 200k a week buys a lot of loyalty nowadays
Arguably they are, particularly at this point in time ... but you are really missing the point. I've been a student of footie since I was a boy, as was my old man, and that extended to the European leagues. Watched the 1968 European Cup final live and despite cheering on United in that (always support the Brits) came away with a new hero, Eusebio .. he stopped to applaud a save by Alex Stepney ... and not in an ironic or arrogant way like some of the egos today might. Great footballer, fine man. But it's not just Portugal ... have a pretty good knowledge of all the major European leagues.. and South American. Anybody that has will have heard of Guimares ...
Bit before my time mate, that was back in the day, and like I said, players aint wired like that any more.
