That was nothing to do with the pitch. Just an awful shot to a ball he should have let go.

The runs were starting to flow. The pressure was easing. It was the first ball from a new bowler - it was a simple leave.
We've been under the pump since the first ball, could've been more wickets down easily.
Not really. Vince was 18 off 22 - I didn't sense any pressure on him. He gave his wicket away.
Why? We elected to bowl first last season and we lost by an innings inside 3 days. I've no issue with deciding to bat first.
Even the coms are saying it now, crazy decision to bat IMO.

Only 2 wickets you could put down to the pitch. Gubbins was unlucky and Vince played an awful shot. Yes the ball is swinging but that's a new ball for you. Doesn't mean you shouldn't bat first.
You must be watching a different stream to me, batting has looked very difficult from the start.
Which is generally the case with a new ball. I'm not saying it hasn't been difficult but on another day we might only be 2 down.
It's definitely become easier to bat as the ball got older. Shame Fletcha couldn't hold out until lunch but at least the RR is healthy. 98-5 is a bit different from, say, 60-5.
