Yep, a good effort with Mr Reliable, Special K, propping up the other end. Need to keep it going after tea, 250-300 would be a good effort from where we were.

 

Good to see Barks curb his natural attacking style to just stay at the crease and support Brown. Only 1 boundary but a very valuable knock.

 

Didn't take Jimmy long to get a wicket.

 

Bet Surrey are regretting dropping Brown when he was on 3.

 

I know that we're only two/three innings into the season, so it's still very early days, but I'm yet to be convinced that Holland is suited to batting at 7.

If Organ doesn't get a score soon, I'd be putting Holland back up to open (with Fletcha).

 

With a dodgy forecast tomorrow, it really was important not to get skittled in two sessions today. Even if Surrey make a big score in their first innings it may now be difficult to bowl us out twice.

 

And dropping Felix for Donald or Prest?

 

Brown was unlucky there, looked to be going down leg side on the screen. 95

 

I would go Donald, but I'd also be totally fine with giving Prest a go instead.

A number 7 needs to have an attacking game (look at how many white ball openers bat at no.7 in red ball). And Donald and Prest both have that.

 

Five overs of these two and we could be well on the way to 300.
