Just like last ODI. England looked as if they would keep Bangladesh to a low score, then can't finish them off and let them achieve a score that puts the ball firmly in their court. Target 278
102-1 after 18 overs. On target with loss of only one wicket, but long way to go. Must be strange for England....utter silence when they took wickets or score 4s or 6s. In fact I wasn't sure about two of our wickets because there was so little reaction. Even the Barmy Army aren't barmy enough to go to Bangladesh.
Cracking win England, in difficult conditions for them ! Excellent series between two good ODI teams.
I see Kent are seeking arbitration over the Durham relegation with the ECB. While I understand their disappointment it seems a little perverse to claim they are more entitled to the Div 1 place. After all they did not play Durham while that County were benefiting from spending money on contracts (ie players) they could not afford. It's a complex matter which could've been handled a little better but I stuggle to see why, when Kent always knew 2nd place would not be promoted, they should benefit instead of Hampshire. Interesting to note many Counties have more debt than Durham had, they just have 'better' lenders. But then as Saints fans we know how that feels, the debts which led to our admin were not unmanagable even in comparison to other like sized clubs at the time, but the bank blinked. For which I think most Saint fans are now grateful.
England V Bangladesh First test day one. England win the toss and choose to bat. England. 81-3. At lunch.
258-7 at stumps. Reasonable after a poor start and some excellent spin bowling by the young debutant Mehadi.
Ryan McLaren has signed for Lancashire for next season. Be interesting to see who we get in to replace him.
Bangladesh all out for 248. We lead by 45. Stokes took 3 wickets, they lost their last 5 wickets for 27 runs.
