Point of order: SB3 is not like Marmite at all.

And spells rather pungent.
And that the relatively small number of people who don't loath him, find that they only need a tiny amount, it being very easy to have too much.


Actually, you are right- he is a bit like Marmite, isn't he? A waste product from the brewing industry.:)

Hey Woops - supposed to be on a wildlife boat ride today but as its windy and a swell is up and its a tender port the Captain has decided that its too dangerous to launch the tenders - I did happen to mention that if it was an English captain we would have been anchored and sorted but that didnt work - hope your walks are continuing I circumnavigate deck 7 every morning several times mainly to get rid of the previous days excesses - ATB

The 1973 oil crisis began in October 1973 when the members of the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC, consisting of the Arab members of the OPEC plus Egypt, Syria and Tunisia) proclaimed an oil embargo. By the end of the embargo in March 1974, the price of oil had risen from $3 per barrel to nearly $12. The oil crisis, or "shock", had many short-term and long-term effects on global politics and the global economy. It was later called the "first oil shock", followed by the 1979 oil crisis, termed the "second oil shock."

Hey anti - good to hear from you. It's been pretty windy and rough over here for the last day or two. Some snow in North Hampshire and Dorset, but none over on the south island fortunately. Only walks have been the brisk uphill trek to my car after work. You may have seen on another thread that David Connolly has left PFC by mutual consent - wonder if he has anything lined up ? Jan 10th, 1979 - The Sun paper headline is 'Crisis? What Crisis?' as UK Prime Minister James Callaghan (Portsmouth born o_O ) denies that the country is in chaos during the 'Winter of Discontent' strike wave.
 
In January 1985, York City took on the might of First Division Arsenal in the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Conditions were tricky at Bootham Crescent, with local volunteers being drafted in on the morning of the fixture to clear away the snow and ice.
The only goal of a dramatic game came from the penalty spot, in the final minute of the match. Keith Houchen slotted home to send the home crowd into raptures.
York went on to draw 1-1 with Liverpool at Bootham Crescent in the fifth round, but lost 7-0 in the replay at Anfield four days later in what was the club's record cup defeat.

Hi Anti - you're back ! Pleased to hear you had a great holiday. Nothing much went on over here while you were away on your hols, apart from Pompey still struggling to produce a win. Been alot colder here (-3.5 degrees one morning) which was a tad chilly !!
If you could resume duties re. Prediction League, then that would be spiffing <cheers>
