The Battle of Poitiers was a major battle of the Hundred Years' War between England and France. The battle occurred on 19 September 1356 near Poitiers, France. Preceded by the Battle of Crécy in 1346, and followed by the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, it was the second of the three great English victories of the war.

Another spanking for the Frenchies as a near neighbour Woopert do you feel the dislike - fine sunny a.m. now starts 3 months of thumb twiddling

The Treaty of Berwick, signed at Berwick-upon-Tweed, Scotland, in 1357, officially ended the Second War of Scottish Independence.

French eh ?! You either love them or hate them - bit like marmite...

The Treaty of London (1358) known as the first Treaty of London (May 1358), was signed during the Hundred Years' War, between the English and French.[1]
Edward III of England's son, Edward the Black Prince, invaded France from English held Gascony in 1356, winning a victory at the Battle of Poitiers. During the battle, the Gascon noble Jean III de Grailly, captal de Buch, captured the French king, John II, and many of his nobles. At the instigation of the pope, negotiations were opened and resulted in a truce being declared on 13 March 1357. The Black Prince brought John to London where negotiations were reopened and the First treaty of London signed in May 1358.
The truce set John's ransom at four million écus. The treaty was never implemented, largely because the French did not raise the first instalment of the ransom. However, negotiations resumed that extended the truce and eventually led to the second treaty of London.

The Journey of K-4 #1361
In 1985, with assistance and guidance from Altoona State Rep. Rick Geist, K-4 #1361 was assessed for possible return to service. When the assessment revealed this was feasible, the City of Altoona agreed to turn over the locomotive’s title to the Museum. Conrail agreed to facilitate the removal of the K-4 from the Curve. In September 1985, the locomotive was towed off the Curve and into a shop in Conrail’s Juniata complex.

Greetings Woopert - damp again but a hint of sun coming through - off to do laps again - this followed by a 4 hour mandatory training course for board directors (groan)

The Pleading in English Act 1362 (36 Edw. III c. 15), often rendered Statute of Pleading, was an Act of the Parliament of England. The Act complained that because the French language was much unknown in England, the people therefore had no knowledge of what is being said for them or against them in the courts, which used Law French. The Act therefore stipulated that "all Pleas which shall be pleaded in [any] Courts whatsoever, before any of his Justices whatsoever, or in his other Places, or before any of His other Ministers whatsoever, or in the Courts and Places of any other Lords whatsoever within the Realm, shall be pleaded, shewed, defended, answered, debated, and judged in the English Tongue, and that they be entered and inrolled in Latin".

What a bunch of pleaders....

Evening anti. Busy day at work today. We had sunshine, rain and hailstones - everything but snow and subterranean fire thrown at us. Enjoy your training course, and have a tinny or two when you get home, to recover <ok>

British standard plugs and sockets according to BS 1363 are introduced in the late 1940s. Used in the UK, Ireland, Cyprus, Malta and several countries in Africa and Asia. Type G profile
BS 1363 socket. The neutral and live slots are protected by shutters, which are opened by insertion of the longer earth pin. The BS 1363 plug and socket combination is considered a very safe system. Most wall sockets have built-in switches, reducing the need for plug removal when power is not required. The switch is just for convenience, and is not a regulatory requirement.

Application form 1365 A Superyacht Crew visa generally allows a stay of 12 months,
although stays of 3 or 6 months may also be granted.
This visa allows people to enter Australia on multiple occasions
within 12 months of the date of grant.
Under Australia’s migration regulations, decision-makers may,
however, grant a Superyacht Crew visa permitting the visa
holder to travel to and to remain in Australia for a specified
period that they see as appropriate. In some circumstances, the
stay period granted may be less than the stay period requested
by the application.

Greetings Woopert fine sunny sports day looms the 4 hour drudge of yesterday a distant memory ATB

LGA 1366, also known as Socket B,[2][3] is an Intel CPU socket. This socket supersedes Intel's LGA 775 (Socket T) in the high-end and performance desktop segments. It also replaces the server-oriented LGA 771 (Socket J) in the entry level and is superseded itself by LGA 2011. LGA stands for land grid array. This socket has 1,366 protruding pins which touch contact points on the underside of the processor (CPU)[4] and accesses up to three channels of DDR3 memory via the processor's internal memory controller.

Socket 1366 (Socket B) uses QPI to connect the CPU to a reduced-function northbridge that serves mainly as a PCI-Express controller. A slower DMI is used to connect Intel's most recent northbridge and southbridge components. By comparison, Intel's socket 1156 (Socket H) moves the QPI link and PCI-Express controller onto the processor itself, using DMI to interface a single-component "chipset" (now called PCH) that serves traditional southbridge functions. The difference in pin number is mostly a reflection of the number of memory channels served.

Hi anti. Lovely weather today, apparently in for the next 4 or so days. Now, how to get out of work early ?.....

Garrison Border Town of Elvas and its Fortifications
The site, extensively fortified from the 17th to 19th centuries, represents the largest bulwarked dry-ditch system in the world. Within its walls, the town contains barracks and other military buildings as well as churches and monasteries. While Elvas contains remains dating back to the 10th century ad, its fortification began when Portugal regained independence in 1640. The fortifications designed by Dutch Jesuit padre Cosmander represent the best surviving example of the Dutch school of fortifications anywhere. The site also contains the Amoreira aqueduct, built to enable the stronghold to withstand lengthy sieges.

Used in army, and more commonly in the police forces 1369 is intended to sound, to a civilian, like technical jargon from police/army codes. 1369 is actually a low-blow insult meaning unlucky c***-sucker. 13 being unlucky, and 69 being an obvious sexual position.

Who makes this stuff up !! Good evening Woopert fine sunny day with darts at the end of it - tomorrow a 4 hour drive down Canberra way to visit relo's - hope your fine weather continues as we now switch to the flannelled fools for entertainment - somewhat insufferable here with Australia making the number 1 test team ATB

In 1373, John of Gaunt set off from Calais on a great raid to strike at the heart of France. Driven by the high ideals of chivalry, the raiders left with epic pageantry. However, the reality soon overwhelmed the raiders. Beset on all sides by French ambushes and plagued by disease and starvation, the raiders battled their way through Champagne, east of Paris, into Burgundy, across the Massif Central and finally down into the Dordogne.

This geared steam locomotive was a "B-type" built by the Climax Manufacturing Co. of Pennsylvania as their Builders No. 1375 of 1916. It was used by Longworth's sawmill tramway at Kendall, NSW, which wound on wooden rails through the Eucalyptus forested gullies and ridges behind Kendall to feed the Longworth's timber mill alongside a coastal lake. After the loco's final run in 1933, the boiler was adapted for static use in a sawmill.
The boiler, smokebox and smokebox saddle of Climax 1375 are now displayed at Kendall, NSW (near Port Macquarie) as a reminder to the Longworth's mill and tramway. In addition, part of the tramway formation has been opened as a walking track.

Very much an upcoming firm in their day - weekend sentiment reciprocated Woopert
