Sir Chesire Ben, as I stated we 'will still call ourselves Hull City,' whether the clubs name gets changed or not, we still have a fantastic history and there are many stories that we can all tell. Personally I aren't that keen on the name, but I would like to give the Allam's the chance to prove us all wrong. I just feel that if we don't take up this opportunity then it may leave a sense of 'what if ....'.

Stuart, you are right Steve Bruce and the players have got us to Wembley, but none of them would be employed (apart from McShane) if it was not for the Allams. And yes you are right, we have helped to keep the club alive through many turbulent situations, though none of us were able to take the club to the Premier League. I am not too sure what people are thinking when they say that if the club's name changes they would hand over there season ticket. Our past and memories will never go away, 'Waggy and Chillo' still played for us, as did Theo Whitmore any Jay Jay Okocha, we were still locked out of Boothferry Park, Alan Fettis still scored a goal against Oxford United, Deano still scored the goal at Wembley and Hull still have a football team.

Yes there has been a silent group of supporters that find Allam's ideas exciting (it's opinion) and I think he may have gone about his publicity wrong, but I would really like to give him a chance. He hasn't exactly done much wrong in taking the club further since he saved us from extinction, he just needs to work on his PR. No I am not an Allam employee, but I am someone who would like to give them a chance. I am fed up of people who are anti-name change but will not listen to our view points, I have listened and taken on board and understand why you believe in what you do. However football is about opinion. I do not think that anybody's response to opinion should be 'f@ck!ng this and 'f@cking that' Cheshire Ben, at least back up your opinion.
 
Tigercity, no I aren't silent, otherwise I would not be expressing my views, I will not be bullied into an opinion others want me to take. So I take it you call the KC stadium The Circle then seen as though the history is so important to you?

No you haven't listened at all have you? If you had you wouldn't still be talking about 'opportunities' or a feeling of 'what if'.

There is 0% chance changing the name will make us money. I've explained this clearly once already and you just ignored it, then offered this arrogant crap suggesting it's us who aren't listening to you! We've been saying for months it won't make money and the FA have now confirmed it. The Allams can't even say when questioned how much money they think it'll bring in, where from or how/why it'd be dependant on the name change. If you want to be taken seriously then make a clear point. The finance argument has never been valid. So come on, what are the benefits of this name change? There must be a reason to change it so...?

How many of the players were spotted/signed by the Allams? None. It was someone else's expertise.

All they have done is made their money available in the form of a loan charged at 5%. Not a gift a loan.

We managed to get from Lg2 oblivion to the Premier League before Mr Allam came along. That was through the blood sweat and tears of 12,000 diehards who helped push the club from Kidderminster to Old Trafford.

No name change needed- everyone proud to be Hull City and not interested in pimping the club to some daft Cambodian with a lucky carnivore fetish.

Aside from lending the club his money (and charging us 5% interest (higher than the banks- a decent earner)), he has done almost nothing right.

Don't make me list the numerous ****ups yet again.

I'll limit myself to asking you how you enjoyed the promotion party last May?
 
I'd hate to think of the next generations of supporters calling the club "Hull Tigers".

I dunno how anybody could think that's acceptable.

Now PLT whilst I agree with what you are saying but your claim that there is 0% chance of a name change bringing in extra money is just as baseless as the Allams saying it will. Lets face it there is a possibility that it might generate a bit of extra income, not saying it will be much and certainly not worth all the agro it is causing however your claim is just as redundant as Doc Allams

By the way I'm totally against the name change as well but like to point out stuff that is said that needs correcting
 
We can't even run a proper clubshop or market the club within the city boundaries (witness the unsold seats against WBA) -why would anyone think AA knows about marketing English football clubs globally?

After all Manchester City haven't become Manchester Hunter yet and they're still solvent....
 
If Boothferry was in spectacular condition and you moved to a stadium that is the same but with a stupid name all under the eye of a pompous **** then you might be able to make similarities.

Hope sitting on the fence isn't uncomfortable. If Allam wanted to show changing the name would have amazing financial benefits to the club, he or the board(if they are relevant) would have explained the strategy based on research conducted by a reputable organisation,explaining chapter and verse how this was to be achieved in order to get support from his customers.Has he done that? I have seen nothing which supports the hypothesis that a name change will do that.You don't make decisions on the basis that it might!!

We knew a move to the stadium would be for the good of the club, would bring in extra revenue, attract better players and boost attendance figures, and we were coming back home to 'The Circle', where we had played many years before, however due to sponsorship the stadium was to be called the 'KC.' We also knew that we would possibly fall out of the football league pretty quickly if things did not change, something none of us wanted.

I see a very similar thing with re-naming our club 'Hull Tigers.' For those that remember us playing at 'The Circle' may well still call our stadium this, but for the majority we are happy to call it the 'KC.' Just like the renaming of our club, if it happens we will still call ourselves Hull City, but new fans may well call us Hull Tigers. But we also know that there is a possibility like the naming of our stadium to bring in extra revenue and attract better players. There are exciting times ahead at Hull City, we do not know what the future will bring, but we do know that there are potential sponsors out there willing to invest in Hull City. We can be the first team to do this, and I believe other clubs of a similar size to us may follow suit. It may work, it may not but que sera sera, whatever will be, will be, we're going to Wembley!! (And we must not forget that it is our current management team that has got us there) Let's support the team.

i'm with stuart blampey on this one. pre ww2 our ground was called anlaby road so i don't consider (or believe) that we have "come home" to the circle. returned to base possibly, come home possibly, but not come home to the circle. sorry.

It was The Circle for most of the time we've been there, but the Allam's dropped it from our address and replaced it with West Park.
 
Always was The Circle. Always will be The Circle. Even when a proper company takes over Hull Telephones and the only available sponsors left in the City rename it The Hull Trinity Circle. Now that has a 'ring' to it. And quite possibly a funny handshake also!

You've hit the nail on your own head there - we could see the tangible benefits of a new stadium. Boothferry was sadly a delapidated ****hole, the new stadium was wonderful. This is the best Hull City ever so comparing it to Boothferry just doesnt work in any way.

There are no demonstrable benefits of changing City to Tigers, other than boosting the ego of a spiteful, petty old man.

The circle was more known as a cricket ground and very little of Hull City's history was based there. Boothferry Park and the KC on the other hand are part of decades of Hull City history

We still call ourselves Hull City because we still are Hull City.

I highlighted a specific part of your post which shows the whole irrelevance of your post.

24 posts in over three years would suggest you are part of the "silent". If you can't be arsed to read through the numerous debates there has been over the last 8 months of your "silence" I'll fill you in. The debate has been done to death. Your stadium change theory has been discussed & shown to be irrelevant. It has no bearing or relevance to the name change debate. It is completely different & not comparable but for the record Boothferry Park was run down & beyond economic repair. running way below the standard it set at it's peak. Hull City AFC are at their peak. End of debate.

From previous more recent threads, you should maybe take note of the second point:-

Anybody voting 1 or 3 is prepared to give up their right to call us City again, regardless of the poll result & any decision from the FA & as such need to take a long hard look at themselves.

Anybody who believes that the proposed name change is anything more than Allam throwing a petulant tantrum because he didn't get his own way with the CITY Council is a little on the 'tard side.

I don't call the stadium The Circle, I call it the KC. My point wasn't about the stadium it was about the name of the club. On another thread I stated that I'd be very happy for the stadium to be called simply 'The Circle' since that name is also part of our history.

The stadium is where the team plays and the fans gather. The team and ther fans are living beings, the soul of the club. A club can have experienced a number of homes in its history - that's to be expected through redevelopment, war, land sales.. I feel fortunate to seen my first City game at Boothferry Park. My nephew has only ever been to the KC, my Dad only BP.

We're all City fans though

Anyone who compares re-naming the stadium with re-naming the club must be as dim as the Allams.
