It is indeed a pseudonym but when i first used it i had no idea it was an actor in Dr Who - i took it from the name of a character in a series of books

As a peripatetic teacher, I tend to meet more pupils than a class teacher - and tend to get a little more fun out of some of the names I encounter. One such case was a young lass called Ruby - when I first taught her class four years ago, I got into the habit of calling her Ruby Tuesday as that is one of my favourite songs - and much to her embarrassment, I'd often burst into song in the middle of a lesson. She did take it in good heart though - at a school talent show, she stood up in front of the whole school and sang the song perfectly, bringing a tear to me eye...

I had a student called tom jones ,welsh obviously, he was a real rough diamond and never did any work, but we all liked him..I could never stop in every lecture..... It's not unusual..... et....
